Apologies: Apologies were received from Coonawara Pétanque Club, Anders Holmdahl and Roger Davis. The newly elected President opened the meeting after thanking the committee members for attending. 2. Minutes: The minutes of the meeting held on the 30 June 2011 had previously been circulated to all members. Glenis Head proposed and Maitie Beaumont seconded that they be accepted as a true record of that meeting. The vote accepting them was unanimous. The President and Secretary then signed and dated a copy of the minutes. A signed copy will be placed on the SAPL website. 3. Actions Arising: a. The secretary had written to all clubs asking for nominations for the position of Selector. To date the following nominations have been received; Anders Holmdahl, Stan Wilson, Allan Sanderson and Tony Stosjic It was agreed to close the action but delegates were asked to seek for more nominations. Action Closed b. The Secretary had written an apology to Brenton Key and received an acceptance in reply. Action Closed Actions from earlier meetings were not discussed and remain open as shown on the attached list. 4. Interclub Participation The licence structure issued by PFA on the 5 July appears to answer many of the concerns held by affiliated clubs. ESP raised a point of clarification on the use of day licences. The meeting generally considered that day licences would not be required for general club meetings but would be required for club championships. The Secretary was asked to clarify this point with PFA. Action Stan Wilson The President reiterated the opinion that he had published prior to the AGM that the SAPL should continue to be engaged with PFA and through its involvement try to help PFA to fulfill its function. 1

Ray Beaumont proposed and Richard Voskamp seconded the motion that: SAPL will require all players in Interclub League games and State championships to be PFA licence holders. Day licences will be allowed for Interclub League games. A vote was taken and the results were as follows Club Adelaide Hills Petanque Club Club de Petanque d Adelaide Coonawara Petanque Club Eastern Suburbs Petanque Ferral Aussie Boulists Gawler Petanque Club Port Noarlunga Petanque Club Prospect Petanque Vote Absent Absent Abstain Abstain The President declared that the motion was carried. 5. Masters Games The secretary reported that the tasks set for July had been completed successfully although the completion was a little late. Registration is very low with only one SA player registered. John Wilson-Smith reported that he was sure some FAB players had registered and said he would check. 6. Treasurer s Report: Maitie Beaumont was confirmed as Treasurer and she presented a copy of her report to each delegate. The report showed that the bank balance as $3328.07 on the 21 July 2011. This included money previously donated to the Junior fund. In addition there were 7 bottles of Red wine and 6 Division 2 medals in stock. The Treasurer proposed that the report be accepted. This was seconded by Marcus Marendez and carried. 7. Confirmation of Cheque Signatories It was noted that the current cheque signatories are Graham Clark, Adrian Clements, Maitie Beaumont and Stan Wilson with any two from four to sign. It was agreed to remove Graham Clark from the list and revert to any two from three to sign. The Secretary tabled the change form from the bank and asked the other two signatories to sign. It will be presented to the bank when the minutes are available. 8. Umpire s Report. Nothing to report 9 Coaches Report The State Coach position is vacant; the work has been done recently by Adrian. Deb Rodda proposed and Glenis Head seconded that Adrian Clements be appointed as State Coach This was carried unanimously. We need to work towards the selection of a State team by the end of August and it is important that clubs nominate fully licenced players for the squad. The format has been changed and we now require 5 Males and 3 females in both the 18 to 60 and 60+ teams. 2

Adrian said that he would publish a training timetable to assist those interested parties to plan their participation. Action Adrian Clements 10. Tournament Director s Report Nothing to report 11. AOB a. Although dates had been reserved for the SAPL organized games the championship events had not been allocated. It was decided to hold the State Triples in Gawler on the 18 March 2012, the Doubles at the ESP grounds on the 26 February and the singles at the Hills in October. The Secretary asked if he could send the proposed dates to PFA as he has a request from them for this information. This was agreed. Action Stan Wilson b. To overcome complaints that the SAPL calendar was drawn up too late in earlier years the work was done this year in May. At this meeting we were informed of changes to programme at Prospect and Noarlunga which means that the 2011-2012 calendar cannot be published at this stage. Will all clubs please confirm their annual calendars to SAPL such that we can put this information out. Action All c. Dave Ward asked that the clubs send him contact details so that he can make sure that the website is correct. See Appendix 1. It was noted that the SAPL Secretary also needs this information. The President thanked Dave for his work on the website saying it was well maintained and presented, all agreed. Action All d. PFA have decided to move the Easter Open to the 24/25 March based on the proposal of some members. It was decided that all SA Clubs who objected to this arbitrary change should write to PFA and complain. Adrian was asked to draft a letter to be used by the clubs as a model for the complaint. Action Adrian Clements Meeting closed at 20:30 Signed Next meeting: 7.0pm 25 August 2011 at Club de Pétanque d Adelaide 3
