Safe Operating Procedures Safe Operating Procedures: Use care when transporting machine with a full tank. Do not raise filled tank to check batteries. Thoroughly clean exterior, tank, hoses, and squeegee after each use. Do not use the machine as a dry vac, it is only intended for stripper, cleaning solutions, and water. Always use appropriate safety gear when dumping stripper. Obey all applicable laws for the disposal of stripper. When the recovery tank reaches capacity, an overfill valve will seal the vacuum motor port. Do not attempt to operate the machine after the vacuum motor port has been sealed. Do not overtighten retaining knobs on squeegee. Knobs should be tightened enough to hold the squeegee in place while allowing it to break away if struck. To reduce foaming, add defoamer in tank before vacuuming stripper. Turn off the vacuum motor when tank reaches capacity and closes the vacuum motor port. Machine Specifications Height: 44 (111,8 cm) Width: 26 (66 cm) Length: 39 (99,1 cm) Squeegee length: 26 (66 cm) or 34 (86 cm) Weight: 225 lb (102 kg) w/batteries, 130 lb (59 kg) w/out batteries 24V system 25A switch / breaker 120A charger plug Tank Capacity Standard Model: 30 gal. (113,6 l) Tank Capacity Low-Profile Model: 16.5 gal. (62,5 l) Battery Compartment dimensions: 16.33 x 12.77 x 10 (41.48 cm x 32.44 cm x 25.4 cm) Battery dimensions: 8.13 x 6.63 x 12 (20.65 cm x 16.84 cm x 30.48 cm) Hand-arm vibration: 0.5 mm/sec 2 Overall sound level: 74 db(a) 2

Operating Instructions Vacuuming 1. Make sure tank lid is closed, all hoses are properly connected, and hose plug is inserted in the dump hose. 2. Lower the squeegee by pushing slightly down and forward on the foot pedal and allowing it to rise slowly. 3. Turn on the vacuum motor switch. 4. Walk forward slowly, allowing the machine to vacuum up the solution on the floor. NOTE: The machine is intended to operate only with the squeegee moving forward. 5. To prolong squeegee life, raise the squeegee by pushing the foot pedal down and slightly back to lock in place when pulling the machine backwards. CAUTION: Floors will be very slippery when wet, especially when wet with stripping solution! Stopping 1. Stop the machine s movement for approximately two seconds. 2. Raise the squeegee by pushing the foot pedal down and slightly back to lock in place. 3. Turn off the vacuum motor. Draining 1. Place the StripVac in an appropriate area for draining. 2. Remove the dump hose from the spring hose clip at the rear of the machine. 3. Unplug hose plug from dump hose and lower to drain. Adjusting Squeegee Angle 1. The squeegee angle may be adjusted by turning the adjustment knob until the desired angle is obtained. Using Optional Squeegee Attachment 1. Disconnect the suction hose from the elbow on the front of the tank. 2. Connect the optional vacuum wand to the elbow on the front of the tank. 3. Turn on the vacuum motor. 4. Push or pull the optional vacuum wand to vacuum fluids in hard to reach areas. 5. When finished, turn off the vacuum motor and reconnect the suction hose. 3

Maintenance Instructions Removing / Attaching Squeegee Blades Front Squeegee Blade: 1. With the vacuum motor off, remove the front blade by loosening the front seven wing nuts and removing the front squeegee retainer strap. 2. As the squeegee wears, it may be flipped 180 to have a new wear edge come in contact with the floor. NOTE: The ribs on the front squeegee must be facing forward. 3. To reattach, place the front blade on the squeegee, followed by the front squeegee retainer strap, and the front seven wing nuts. Rear Squeegee and Backer Blades: 1. With the vacuum motor off, remove the rear squeegee and backer blades by loosening the rear seven wing nuts and removing the rear squeegee retainer strap. NOTE: The rear squeegee and backer blades are identical. The rear blade is to be positioned so that the squeegee blade attachment set screws are at the top of the slot in the blade. The backer blade is to be positioned so that the screws are at the bottom of the slot in the blade. This enables the rear blade to come in contact with the floor and backer blade to provide support. 2. As the rear squeegee blade wears, it may be reoriented so that all four edges of the blade come in contact with the floor. After all four edges are worn out, switch the rear squeegee blade with the backer blade and repeat the process. This enables a total of eight working edges to be used before replacing blades. 3. To reattach, place the rear squeegee and backer blades on the squeegee. Then secure the rear squeegee retainer strap with the rear seven wing nuts. Removing / Attaching Squeegee 1. With the vacuum motor off, disconnect the suction hose from the squeegee. 2. Firmly pull the squeegee from the bracket. If needed, slightly loosen the retaining knobs until the squeegee is released. 4

Cleaning IMPORTANT! Clean the StripVac after each use. 1. Place the StripVac in an appropriate area for draining. 2. Remove the dump hose from the spring hose clip at the rear of the machine. 3. Unplug hose plug from dump hose and lower to drain. 4. Open the lid on the top of the tank and rinse the inside of the tank with hot water. 5. Rinse out the suction hose (the one at the front of the machine). 6. Rinse the squeegee. 7. Once unit is thoroughly cleaned and drained, plug in the dump hose and attach hose to hose clip. 8. Clean the optional vacuum wand. IMPORTANT! Do not get water in the vacuum hose (the one that is connected to the vacuum motor), or on any electrical components. CAUTION: Do not lift the tank when it contains liquid. NOTE: When lowering the tank to its seated position, use care not to kink or crush hoses. Do not drop the tank into place. Lower the tank gently into position. 5

Battery Maintenance Connecting the Batteries and Vacuum Motor 1. Place batteries, B1 and B2, into the chassis as shown. 2. Connect the charger plug positive lead, L1, on the positive post of B1. 3. Connect the positive switch lead, L2, on the positive post of B1. Tighten the wing nut on the positive post of B1. 4. Connect the positive vac motor leads, L3 and L4. 5. Connect the jumper lead, L5, from the negative post of B1 to the positive post of B2 and tighten their respective wing nuts. (Note: The black end of the L5 connects to the negative post of B1 and the red end of L5 connects to the positive post of B2.) 6. Connect the negative vac motor lead, L6 to the negative post of B2. 7. Connect the charger plug negative lead, L7, to the negative post of B2. Tighten the wing nut on the negative post of B2.
