1 Student Organization Resource Fee (SORF) Board Thursday, September 29, 2016 Illini Union, Room 405 Pre-Meeting Agenda Chairman Lang, Presiding 5:00 PM 1. RSO Presentations a. Raas Mania i. Raas Mania did not originally understand the application when it was submitted. They were approved in the past and thus thought they would be approved again. The event has changed since the last SORF funding allocation meeting and thus are requested for an appeal. This year they do not plan on donating money to charity. They now also have a budgeting request for contractors, specifically photographers. This event is not to make money and they are not charging students. Without SORF funding they will struggle with hosting the event. They only charge non-students. If there is a surplus from the event then they would contact SORF and determine future steps. Contractors for this event not only include photographers, but also independent acts such as other on-campus groups. The intention is to have more diversity in the show. Photos and videos must be submitted to the national level in order to be sponsored by the national organization. Currently the organization does not have enough money in their accounts to rent Foellinger. The event would most likely be free if they did not get SORF funding. Raas Mania has done some fundraising to lower the costs to their organization. Over the past few days Raas Mania has been evaluating if it could cut certain things from the event, but they must ensure the event is up to national standards so not much more can be cut. Raas Mania is in the processing of finding other boards that will possibly fund the event. Raas Mania is currently missing information regarding contractual service. Raas Mania is appealing for the photographer, videographer, and rental of Foellinger. Total appeal would be for $3,150. 2. Consideration of RSOs a. Raas Mania (Edwin) Motion to zero fund contractual service and fund rental of Foellinger, Vote 9-0-1, Passed 3. Introductions & Dinner 4.
