The Membership Committee, Board of Directors and Club Management are proud to announce the increase in our Initiation Fees effective April 1, 2018. This decision was made based on the facility improvements over the last few years, the growth in membership and the recent recognition in Avid Golfer as the Best Country Club in mid-range pricing in the DFW area. The new Initiation Fee for Full Privilege Membership will increase from $20,000 to $40,000; Social Membership Initiation Fee will increase from $3,000 to $5,000; Young Executive Tier One (21-34 years) Initiation Fee will increase from $3,500 to $5,000 and our Young Executive Tier Two (35-39 years) Initiation Fee will increase from $6,000 to $8,000. We encourage you to remind your friends and business associates to consider membership prior to the increase in the Initiation Fees. Since we started the BASH Member Appreciation Event in 2013, we have given away five trips to the Masters or US Tennis Open. The past recipients of this trip are Michael and Laura O Brien, Dr. Brit and Rhonda Phillips, Mark and Jane Schoomaker, Jeff and Kari Jordan and Gary and Nancy Miller. Do you want to win a trip for two to the Masters or US Tennis Open? We are giving every Member the opportunity to win this incredible trip at our 6th Annual Member Appreciation BASH Event to be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018. If you sponsor a new Member prior to the event your admission is FREE, and as a sponsor, you qualify to be entered into the drawing for a trip to the 2019 Masters or US Open. Joanna Howard is the new Director of our Kid's Club. She has been caring for children for over 10 years ranging from the ages of new born to 16 years old in and out of the classroom setting. She went back to school to obtain her directors certification to pursue a dream of hers of becoming a Director and opening a daycare of her own one day. What she loves most about her job is getting to interact with children of all ages. She truly believes that every child is unique and special. She is very thrilled to be at the Mira Vista Kid's Club and she can't wait to meet everyone.

Golf Course Maintenance Mike Epps Golf Course Superintendent Happy Valentine s day! 2018 is off to a very cold start with a low of 6 degrees on January 17, 2018. The great thing about North Texas weather is that one day you are bundled up by the fire place and then a few days later you re out playing golf wearing a wind breaker thinking it s spring. The cold weather has the grass fully dormant and the greens rolling great. We have been busy trimming trees and Crepe Myrtles and have been using a tree trimming company to help with the tree work. During January, we trimmed up holes 11, 13, 15, and 16 as we ve been working to restore and improve sight lines and golf shot possibilities. We will also be working on removing dead trees and then continue with our general cleanup of over growth. The crepe myrtles have also been getting their normal clean up and structural pruning. We will also be stump grinding and back filling any stumps from trees that had to be removed on the course this past year. There are a few drainage projects, irrigation head leveling, and cleanup projects on the list over the next two months. The goal is to continue to improve the course and your playing experience. The picture above is on hole fourteen on a beautiful frosty morning at sunrise. 2018 is set to be a great year and we will have the golf course ready for you and your guest. As always I hope to see you out on the golf course soon, and my goal is to have the course in the best condition possible every day for your enjoyment. If you have any questions or concerns please call or e-mail me (817-294-6615, mepps@miravistacountryclub.com ) or come ride the course with me, I ll buy the coffee. Thank you, Mike Epps Golf Course Superintendent February Friday Night Live
