National Rules 2017 Calendar year has changed - Your child may move up one division based on birth YEAR not age All divisions will be renamed, with the U after the division number. Example: u10 will now be 10U Still NO HEADING in 12U and below 12
13 New rule implementation for 6U and 8U, all throw-ins will be replaced with a PASS-IN to put ball into play. There will be a BUILD-OUT LINE in 10U to promote playing the ball out of the back field In addition, punting will no longer be allowed in 12U and 10U for goal keepers. Goal area line Goal line 12U & 10U Player Development Initiative No Punting, Drop Kicks or Half-Volleys Objective Promote play out of the back in less pressured setting; keep ball on the ground (decreased risk of concussions) Penalty Area If a Goal Keeper intentionally performs a punt, Drop-kick or Halfvolley an Indirect Free Kick( IFK ) shall be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offence Goal Area GK Punts, Drop Kicks and Half-Volleys are not permitted If the offence occurs within the Goal Area (6 yard area) an IFK should be taken on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the nearest point to where the infringement occurred Drop kicks are considered punts and are not allowed 3
