FOUNDED IN 1977 TO REPRESENT THE AUTO HOBBY IN NEW MEXICO NEWSLETTER FOR JANUARY, 2008 New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Statement of Purpose Organized in 1977, the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs (NMCCC) consists of member clubs from throughout New Mexico. It shall serve to foster communication and cooperation among the member clubs, as well as with similar organizations in other states. It shall be strictly non-profit in nature and will operate as a non-profit New Mexico corporation. Funds for its operation may be levied on its member clubs or raised by promoting automotive events. NMCCC 2006-2007 Officers and Directors President Robert Agnew Classic Car Club 881-2722 Vice President Michael Maestas Southwest FBody Association 385-8764 Secretary Paul McLaughlin Mustang Owners Club 296-2554 Treasurer Ron Rymarz Old Car Club of Albuquerque 293-0581 Director Dennis Seibert Rickshaw Car Club 873-1679 Director John Doran Rio Grande Mustang Club 298-0111 Director Joyce Clements Tumbleweed V-8 Club 884-7912 Newsletter Editor Joyce Clements Political Action Committee Head John Doran Web Meister John Doran Newsletter Please send event flyers and listings, changes of address, and any items to be included in newsletter to: NMCCC P.O. NMCCC REPRESENTATIVES PLEASE TELL YOUR CLUB MEMBERS ABOUT OUR WEB SITE http://nmcarcouncil.org IT S BEEN REVISED AND UPDATED LOTS OF EVENTS POSTED MORE IMPROVEMENTS ARE SCHEDULED PLEASE NOTE: Flyers for Do It Yourself Auto included in this newsletter have been provided by the business and were not paid for with NMCCC funds. Do It Yourself also paid postage for this newsletter. Owners are Jeremy Bustos and Alyssa Byrne, active members of Southwest FBody Assn and Council volunteers. MOVIE CARS NEEDED Movie to be filmed in Albuquerque/Bernalillo area, Love Ranch needs cars and trucks from 1965 to 1976 for driving and for background shots. Motor homes, flatbeds, semis, vans and station wagons are also needed. They particularly need Dodge and Plymouths to dress up as squad cars. What they do will not harm the cars. These do not need to be show cars; daily driver-types are welcome. Contact Will Aruts at aroots11@yahoo.com if you can help. Lady in charge of extras, also needed, is Elizabeth Gabel egabel@msn.com. Production Department phone number is 856-0020. Will s number is 231-1748. They wish pictures of vehicles e-mailed to loveranchcars@mac.com. They expect to start filming January 28. The outdoor filming is due to start February 6. If you want to be an extra, get in touch ASAP. They will pay for use of cars and extras. SUPERNATIONALS FEBRUARY 1-3, 2008 Hello and Happy New Year to Everyone! Another year is here and the Supernationals are coming up very quickly. I ve talked with Reggie and we have the same agreement this year as we did last year. We have an entire room in one of the secondary buildings where we can put 17 automobiles. The show is February 1-3, 2008. We would like to have a broad variety of vehicles to be representative of the council, so we are shooting for no more than 1 to 2 vehicles from any particular club. We also need to ensure we have at least 20 vehicles (3 alternates) to ensure if a vehicle can t make it at the last minute that someone is there to take their place. Please send all entries (preferably with pictures) to Michael Maestas at mrws6@comcast.net and you may contact Michael at (505) 385-8764. There are not any requirements on the vehicles, but do remember that this is a nice car show. Vehicles do not have to be pristine, but it will take some time and care to clean them up for the show. We welcome original, restored, modified, old, classic, newer, and interesting vehicles. We want to show our diversity. This needs to be done fairly soon as the show is coming up quickly. Please submit all entries by Sunday January 20, 2008. Preference will be given to vehicles that are registered early. Thanx, Michael Maestas VP, The New Mexico Council of Car Clubs

NMCCC MINUTES-OCTOBER 24, 2007 MEETING Bob Agnew, our Council President, called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM and the fol- lowing club representatives were present. Mike Peckumn-Route 66 Rodders, Cary Hub- bard-corvairs of NM, Rainbow Roadrunners, Cougar Club, Will Clements-LCOC, Jim Clements-Tumbleweed V-8, Charlie Brown-Zia Studebaker Packard Club, John Hayne-Tin Lizzies of Albuq, Su Rymarz-Old Car Club of Albuq, Ron Rymarz-OCCA, Joe Cif- aratta-vmcca, Jerry Jennings-Pajarito T-birds, Jon Doran, Frank Whiston-NM 4 Whee-lers, Jeff and Lauri Rector-NM 4 Wheelers, Bruce Shaffer- NM Old Rt 66 Car Show, Philip Dankworth-Rickshaws, Joyce Clements-OCCA, Bill Lemen-LCOC, Dennis Sei-bert- Rickshaws, Chris Padilla-LOE GTO Club, Paul McLaughlin-Mustang Owners Club, ATHS-NM, Bob Agnew-Classic Car Club. Guests: New Mexico 4 Wheelers Association Treasurer's Report- Ron Rymarz reported that we have somewhere around $8000.00 in our checking account as of this date. His records also show that we have made $1887.04 cents for this year over and above our expenses as of this date. Joyce Clements reported that 70 cars showed up at the Eisenhour Middle School Car Show on a very windy day and all had a good time. Joyce Clements gave her wrap up report about our Annual Fall Swap Meet. She said that most of the people she talked to, both vendors and the general public, were very hap-py with this event. We sold 317 spaces and the furthest vendor to attend came all the way from Indiana. Joyce wanted to express her thanks to the Corvair Club, Old Car Club of Albuquerque, and all the other individuals and clubs that helped to make this event a suc-cess. And lastly she reported that the Village of Los Lunas was very happy with our swap meet and they would like to host it for the next twelve years. Workers for the Village of Los Lunas put in a lot of time making sure that the field was prepared properly for this e-vent and we appreciated their support. Joyce also said that thank you notes would be mailed out to all vendors to let them know we appreciate their support. Speaking also a-bout the Annual Swap Meet Bob Agnew also reported that the Village of Los Lunas was very pleased with this event and the hotels in the area were very happy too since they ren-ted out 86 rooms for the weekend. A motion was presented on the floor that we make a donation to the Village of Los Lunas so they could make improvements to the park where the swap meet was held. It was suggested that this donation be in the amount of $1000.00. This motion passed and a check for $1000.00 will be presented to the Mayor of Los Lunas. Jon Doran spoke about the upcoming Martin Luther King Holiday Parade which will be held on Sunday January 13, 2008. JD said that he would like to have 4-6 convertibles available to carry dignitaries from UNM to Civic Plaza. This would be a very good op-portunity to showcase our hobby and the Car Council to all the politicians who will be on hand for this popular event. The Balloon Fiesta Car Show held in early October proved to be a very successful event with over 300 cars on display on the show grounds. Joyce Clements spoke about our Council Website and her search for a new Website Manager. Joyce reports that she has spoken to a Paul Grunwald and he would like to give us a trial run. He is a website designer and he thinks he can take on our website as a part time affair. His initial cost to set it up would be about $60.00 an hour. Then he would charge us a monthly fee to maintain the site.

After hearing input from Joyce, Michael Maestas, Ron Rymarz, and Bill Lemen it was decided to give Paul a six month test period and propose a 2 hour limit per month to make changes to and maintain the site. A volunteer club is needed to host our 2008 All Club's Picnic and we will be discus-sing this subject at our January 2008 meeting. A Committee will also be formed to meet in November or December to start planning for our Albuquerque Museum May 2008 Car Show. Discussion about this show will also appear on the agenda for our January 2008 meeting. At this point Bob Agnew brought the meeting to a close and told everyone he would see them in January since this was our last meeting of 2007. Paul G.
