BITS N PIECES Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association Newsletter May 2018 OQHA President s Well spring finally moved in for a couple days and now it has skipped to feel more like summer. Our Spring Show turn out was very good considering the ice, snow, and cold temps. We really appreciate the people who came to show and appreciate all the volunteers who came to work. A big thank you goes out to everyone. I also wanted to thank everyone who traveled to Tulsa to our first board meeting held April 24th. OAQHA President s Hello OQHA members. Hope each and everyone of you has had a glorious spring thus far. April was a busy month for the Amateur members, as many were showing at both the OQHA Spring Show, and the Central Level 1 Championships. Both were fantastic events with a lot of participation from our OQHA members. Congratulations to each and everyone one that did a great job at both shows! It was fantastic to see the tough competition & exceptional sportsmanship by all. In addition to the back to back shows, the Amateurs also held their 4th Annual A Day at the Races Silent Auction event on a beautiful, and sunny April 22nd. It was a lot of fun watching the Quarters run, as well as the zebras, Clydesdales, ostriches and camels! The kids just loved it!! We had incredible donations and I d personally like to thank each and everyone that came to support our fine organization. A special thank you goes out to Vicki Tebow, who graciously donated her suites and always ensures that our event is seamless, and the food divine! Without each and everyone s donations and participation we would not have been such a huge success! I look forward to this event every year and hope to see continued growth next year. Be sure to come in 2019 if you haven t had a chance to rub elbows with our very fun group of OQHA Amateurs, their friends and family. Finally, with May upon us, I would like to remind everyone that the amazing Redbud Spectacular, slated for May 31- June 10th, is fast approaching.
