Overview This standard deals with the competence required by individuals who are involved in managing a fishery. It is aimed at those who work in fisheries management on either a full- or part-time basis, and can be applied to any sporting estate. To meet this standard you will able to: 1. contribute to the development of fisheries management plans 2. complement fisheries management activities This standard relates to the following application or context: Assess the following characteristics: size and structure of fish stocks distribution of fish stocks ability of habitat to support fish stocks interactions with other wildlife Analyse management information including: habitat surveys fishing records resource usage published data and research Establish a clear picture and take action with the following factors: habitat deterioration predator/prey interactions nutritional shortfalls disease land usage human influences resource shortages Propose, agree, supervise and maintain fisheries management plans and activities covering: habitat maintenance habitat improvement monitoring and data collection fish stock management control of exploitation Work with the following resources: LANCU60Ga 1
