Early Dismissal from School Policy Parents are strongly encouraged to schedule appointments before or after school. If, however, a student must be released during the school day, the student MUST bring a note to the office before their first period class. This note should include release time, student s full name, reason for absence, parent s phone number and signature. The student will then be given a Campus Pass, allowing the student to leave school at the time indicated on the pass. This is the least intrusive and most efficient process for the student, office staff, and classroom. Parents who choose to excuse their child by way of phone or Skyward should do so before the start of the school day and should direct their child to the office before the start of the school day for the purpose of acquiring a Campus Pass. Early dismissals that are not pre-arranged in the manner specified above may take up to 25-minutes to locate the student and to minimize disruptions to the classroom. Students who leave campus without first acquiring a Campus Pass will be considered truant. Students who return to school following an early dismissal must first go to the office for the purpose of checking in. Any student involved in forging notes or phone calls will require a legal guardian to be physically present for subsequent early dismissals. REMINDER: If your student is absent for the day please notify the school the morning they will be absent. Parents have up to 2 days to excuse absences. We appreciate your help keeping us informed of student absences!!
