MILO T20 Blast is the new era of junior cricket the real thing! It s fast, fun, active, energetic and dynamic everything kids are looking for in entertainment. It is smallsided games of modified cricket designed to develop social and physical skills while maximising participation for all kids in a fun, safe and inclusive environment. The MILO T20 Blast program is an eight-week program where girls and boys play simultaneous games of T20 on the one field. With only 8 players per team, all participants have a greater involvement in the game. MILO T20 Blast games are much shorter than traditional games of cricket, with each session lasting between 75 and 90 minutes. The format allows parents and coaches to interact with participants throughout, ensuring the skills of the game are taught in an explosive, action packed 90 minutes. All participants receive a BONUS MILO T20 Blast participant pack including; playing shirt, KFC T20 Big Bash League team cap, MILO giveaways and drawstring bag! MILO T20 Blast is a modified game format for children aged 7 12 years, played on a smaller ground with a reduced pitch length. PLAYERS: Eight per side (minimum of 6 and up to 10 players may participate). Each player bats 4 overs in pairs, bowls 2 overs and fields in each position for 2 overs per game GAME LENGTH: 16 overs per team/innings regardless of how many wickets are lost GAME/SESSION DURATION: 75 90 min PITCH LENGTH: 18 metres PITCH TYPE: Grass outfield GROUND SIZE: 40 metre boundaries from batting end stumps. If there is limited space, the area behind the wicket keeper should be reduced to allow more fielding space in front of the wicket. BALL: Incredible style PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Not required BOWLING: Players bowl two overs each, bowled from the same end FIELDING: No fielder is allowed within 10 meters of the bat until after the ball is hit. This excludes the wicket-keeper FREE HIT RULE: If a wide or no-ball is bowled, the batsmen gets a free hit off one of the two tees (located either side of the crease) FREE HIT SAFETY: Free hits must be hit forwards only and the ball should be placed back on the tee by the batsmen only after it is returned by the fielding team DOUBLE SCORING ZONE: The area from the bowlers end stumps back is the double scoring zone (the double scoring zone boundary is marked with the yellow cones). Any ball hit into this area is scored as a double i.e. 1=2, 4=8, 6=12 GETTING OUT: When a batsmen loses their wicket, they still remain batting for their 4 overs. NextGen is a fantastic, money can t buy experience where lucky MILO T20 Blast participants get to run onto the field during a KFC Big Bash League game, meet one of their BBL heroes and receive a signed playing cap from them. As a MILO T20 Blast participant, your child is eligible for selection to take part in one of four NextGen experiences at Sydney Sixers home matches. Objective: To integrate MILO T20 Blast into all BBL matches and ensure both products are viewed as entertaining cricket products for all Australians.
