INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL SPORT FEDERATION & THE CITY OF ATHENS 4 th ISF WORLD EDUCATIONAL GAMES 31/03 05/04/2017 Athens Greece BULLETIN 2 We have pleasure in sending you bulletin 2 for the 4 th ISF World Educational Games, under the aegis of ISF, which will take place from 31 st March till 05 th April 2017 in the Cities of Athens, Olympia and Marathon in Greece. (https://www.cityofathens.gr) The 4 th ISF World School Sport Educational Games are organised by the ISF, the International Olympic Academy, Municipality of Athens, Municipality of Ancient Olympia, Region of Western Greece and the Culture, Sports, and Youth Organisation of Athens, according to the International School Sport Federation rules. This bulletin contains further information to that published in bulletin 1. The following countries have indicated that they will take part in this event: (update 03 rd February 2017) Brazil, Bulgaria, China P.R., Cyprus, England, Estonia, France, Georgia, Slovakia, Italy, and Special Olympics England.
1. COMPOSITION OF TEAMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY See also bulletin 1 which you can find on the ISF website www.isfsports.org 1.1. Each country may enter one or more delegations composed of 4 boys and 4 girls, one teacher and one Head of Delegation (maximum 10 persons). Students may be from the same school or from different schools. As the event focuses on education and culture, students can be selected from any kind of sport, but they should have special merits in school sport in the country concerned. Each country may additionally enter one or more delegations composed of pupils with intellectual disability (Special Olympics Teams see point 1.7. bellow) 1.2. All participating students must have been born in 1999/2000/2001/2002. Neither older nor younger students will be accepted unless for the Special Olympics Teams where an exception can be requested. 1.3. Each delegation shall nominate a Head of Delegation who shall be responsible for his/her delegation. He/she shall be the sole intermediary between his/her delegation and the Organising Committee and the ISF Observer. 1.4. Each participating country has the right to add 4 extra adults whose function must be specified: doctor, physiotherapist, interpreter, security personnel, ministerial representative, journalist, Any other additional persons will not be considered part of the official delegation. 1.5. Students must be enrolled as full-time students at the school they represent. They must be attending schools which provide a general education. A document certifying that each student of the delegation is enrolled at that school from the beginning of the current school year. The following are not eligible to participate: a. pupils of vocational schools who only attend that school as a complement to their vocational training b. students enrolled at schools which provide sports training without any general education c. part-time (e.g. afternoon) sports schools which take students from a variety of schools for training in one or more sports d. teams formed as part of clubs, companies, universities or other institutions 1.6. Each participating team must be nominated officially by the National Organisation responsible for school sport and which is member of ISF. 1.7. Implementing the MoU signed by the ISF and Special Olympics International, delegations from Special Olympics Teams, from all over the world can also participate in the 4 th ISF World Educational Games. All disciplines will be unified (participation of athletes of ISF delegations together with athletes of Special Olympics International and EurAsia). 3
1.8. Following consultation with co-organisers, it is possible that an additional overnight stay in Ancient Olympia would replace an overnight stay in Athens (see provisional program bulletin 1). In this case a special IOA Educational Programme will be conducted in Ancient Olympia by IOA tutors. Final changes will be confirmed in bulletin 3. 2. DATES 2.1. Delegations are to arrive on March 31 st 2017. 2.2. Delegations are to depart after breakfast on April 05 th 2017. 2.3. When the distance between Athens and the capital of a participating country on another continent exceeds 5.000 kilometres, the delegation may extend their stay by arriving one day earlier or leaving one day later. 2.4. The organisation of an extended stay for the delegation (before or after the event) is a matter for the country concerned (exception: see item 2.3). It shall not be the responsibility of the L.O.C. 2.5. The organiser will be able to give you information on alternative accommodation in the area for your use, outside the period of the 4 th ISF World Educational Games and for those accompanying the delegation. 3. BOARD, LODGING AND SERVICES 3.1. The delegations will stay in Athens and in Olympia. 3.2. Students will be accommodated in 2 to 4 bedded rooms. Adults acting as Heads of Delegation and the ISF delegates will be accommodated in single rooms. Teachers will be accommodated in twin bedded rooms. 3.3. Breakfast will be served at the hotel restaurants. Lunch and dinner will be served at the hotel restaurants, but on some occasions there will be a picnic on the spot. 3.4. Arrival day: lunch and/or dinner (according to arrival time) Other days: breakfast lunch dinner Departure day: breakfast lunch or packed meal (according to departure time and to meals on arrival day) 3.5. A medical service will be available throughout the duration of the Games. 4
4. GENERAL RULES These rules will apply to all teams and participants and will remain fixed for the duration of the 4 th ISF World Educational Games. 4.1. The Organising Committee will be responsible for the running and control of the 4 th ISF World Educational Games. 4.2. The 4 th ISF World Educational Games are organised according to ISF rules. 5. NOTE CONCERNING BULLETIN 3 5.1. The definitive electronic entry will be open to participating countries in due time. You will be required to give the following information: a. name of country b. name of the organisation responsible for school sport c. name of head of delegation d. name of teachers e. names of students f. dates of birth of students g. names of additional persons h. precise information on travel times i. particular dietary requirements j. special requests k. passport photos l. personal e-mail addresses of the Head of Delegation, coaches, participants and their parents/legal guardians m. mobile phone number of the Head of Delegation Please have this information available one month before the start of the event. Note: the e-mails provided are the key to an efficient communication about the event. The ISF guarantees that the e-mails will not be used for any other purpose. 5.2. The 3 rd bulletin will provide you with further information about the cultural and social programme and the definitive event programme. 6. VISA INFORMATION Please check if your country needs visa to enter Greece. 7. FINANCES AND INSURANCE 7.1. The fees payable per person and per night amount to 50 EUR. Additionally each member of the delegation must pay an ISF levy of 40 EUR in accordance with current ISF regulations. The total amount due per person is 290 (250 + 40) EUR, less the amount of the deposit previously paid. For those arriving on March 30 th, 50 EUR more will be charged, thus the total amount of 340 EUR. 5
All bank charges are the responsibility of the delegations. 7.2. Payment by bank cards and /or credit cards will not be accepted. 7.3. For the additional adults the following regulation applies: for a single room 100 EUR per night, for a double/twin room (HOD + 1 additional person) 50 EUR per night each, for a double/twin room (teacher + 1 additional person) 50 EUR per night each, for a double/twin room (2 additional persons) 50 EUR per night each. Requests are to be made by the country concerned. 8. REGISTRATION The registration is still open for countries that did not register yet. The ELECTRONIC ENTRY REGISTRATION 1 & 2 (click here) should be duly completed on behalf of the organisation responsible for school sport at the latest by 28 th February 2017. If your country still intends to participate you must register by return!
