Remember Why We Ride TO FUNDRAISE!!!! MS is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system of nearly half a million Americans. Currently there s no cure. The ride raises funds for research that allows us to better understand the disease and work towards a cure! Last year the ride raised over $15 million 4/19/2018 2

Team BP Late Packet Pick up Details Date: Friday, April 27 from 8:00 am 4:00 pm Location: Helios Townhall Room What you need: Fundraising minimum $500 Completed safety clinic in last 3 years Registered with Team BP & MS Society Completed the NMSS Safe Cycling Challenge Signed MS wavier (if minor rider) Jersey exchange First come, first served. Changes, Changes, Changes No Helios Plaza start Tully Stadium start has been moved to Energy Corridor start (Near Dairy Ashford, Eldridge and Park Row) Team BP Tent Location is back in the front of the fairgrounds where it historically has been. More personal tent space, but sign up is required. Team BP Luggage Drop off is only 11 5 Friday April 27, 2018. If you don t utilize this drop off, you must use the NMSS drop offs at an official start (don t forget the yellow Team BP luggage tags). Finish is no longer at the state capitol, but at the Circuit of the Americas. But the go cart track will be open (bring money). No dedicated bus to Helios, but can use NMSS buses (see signup). / / 4

What to Pack Overnight Each rider is allowed 2 pieces of luggage No more than 25 lbs each Put a luggage tag on each piece (printed with your Rider Number included in packet) Include personal tags with name & cell phone In Overnight Bag Tent (optional) Sleeping bag (ground protection) and pillow Towel for shower (La Grange & Austin) Toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothbrush, medications, sunscreen, any other personal items Change of clothes for Saturday evening Plastic cover for bike seat on Saturday night Riding clothes for Sunday cool weather gear Extra water bottle and nutrition items Change of clothes for bus trip home Sun Comfortable shoes 4/19/2018 9

Luggage Info LUGGAGE: We will have a Team BP luggage drop off on campus on Friday, April 27 th. The location is the Helios Surface Lot on Grisby Road between Helios Plaza and Westlake 4. Hours are 11 AM 5 PM, weather permitting. We do not accept guest luggage, only Team BP rider luggage. If you do not drop off bags on Friday, you must drop off with the NMSS on Saturday. The luggage drop off is at one of the official starts (Energy Corridor, Rhodes Stadium and Waller. You must use the NMSS and Team BP supplied luggage tags in your packet to ensure that your luggage will get to the Team BP tent. Use both the NMSS numbered tags in your packet and the yellow Team BP luggage tags in your packet. Disregard the number on the yellow tag, the number you need to get your luggage is the same as your rider number. 4/19/2018 11

Having a Good BP MS150 Experience Sunscreen Apply 1 hour before all over (before dressing) Use sport sun screen (lasts longer) Pre hydration Start several days before the tour Drink 8 glasses of water per day DO NOT try new drinks just before the ride or during breakpoints Take in salty foods at breakpoints 4/19/2018 19

Having a Good BP MS150 Experience Hydration during the tour Carry 2 large bottles on your bike Don t wait till you are thirsty Drink at least 1 bottle/hour Use camel back if you plan on skipping breakpoints Rule of Thumb: Eat before you are hungry, Drink before you are thirsty Wear medical ID tags if appropriate (always carry identification & insurance card) Put cell phones in airplane mode during the tour DO NOT use headphones or ear buds during the ride Riding with someone under 18: Stay with them (meaning you can see them) 4/19/2018 20

BP MS 150 Tips Vocal Warnings Slowing Could be a light, a slower group of riders, a car up ahead Be prepared to slow down Tap your brakes and repeat the call out: "Slowing Stopping VERY important not to slam on your brakes Hold your line stay in a straight line as best you can the person is attempting to pass 4/19/2018 21
