Introduction Our partner LAX-Á Angling Club has access to the very best hunting areas in Iceland, around 1500 acres. All transport throughout the hunt is by fully equipped 4WD vehicle. Location: South, East & North of Iceland Iceland South, East Ranga Lodge. Please note there are plenty of activities in Iceland for non hunting companions, such as whale watching, horse riding, snow mobile, sightseeing and more. Season August 20 th to March 15 th. Climate Shooting Equipment: Clothing: Documents: Flights For such northerly latitudes the climate is surprisingly temperate and is without extremes of hot and cold, thanks to the influence of the Gulf Stream. The average temperature in September in the south of Iceland is around 7 C. In October November it is around 0 C. You are permitted to bring into the country semi-automatic or double-barreled shotguns. The most effective caliber for goose shooting in Iceland is 12 gauges. For semi-automatic shotguns the maximum is three cartridges. All types of suitable cartridges may be bought in Reykjavik or from our guides. In spite of the relatively mild climate, you should bring warm clothing and most importantly, quality rainwear and a windcheater. Please note: in the early morning while awaiting the arrival of the geese, temperatures may be below zero and one should dress accordingly. Prior to your arrival please submit the following data: A photocopy of your local shotgun license and local hunting license and the type, make and serial number of your gun/s. This information is needed one month prior to your arrival. There are many airlines flying to Iceland. Species Barnacle goose, Pink footed Goose and Grey lag goose. DAY 01 Welcoming at your arrival at the International airport in Iceland. Driving to Reykjavík and make a short stop at hunting store if needed. Departure from Reykjavik to East Ranga hunting lodge. Welcomed by the guide and relax in the evening and prepare for the early morning shooting. DAY 02 Shooting in the early morning period, starting one hour before sunrise with a possibility of midday shooting. Relax in the evening. - 3 -
