GARDEN STATE PAINT HORSE CLUB January 9, 2012 The meeting was called to order at 7:45 by the President, Marjorie Moser, at the home of Milton and Dorothy Quirk. In attendance were: Debbie Kinney, Barb Mantini, Jane Munn, Ashley Nolasco, Melissa Buono, Judy Moyer, Marjorie Moser, Mary Kensler, Melissa Ilic, Sigrid Ware, Ken Ware, Dorothy Quirk. MINUTES: The Secretary read a synopsis of the December minutes. Motion was made (Kensler/Kinney) and passed that the minutes be accepted as printed and read. TREASURER S REPORT: Mary Kensler reported a balance on hand of $28,876.00. Jane Munn, Show Chairperson, reported that she estimates our April 2012 show at the Dream Park will cost approximately $31,000 to run. The 2011 April show cost us $23,000. However, she noted that the exhibitors will not see any significant raises in their costs. Motion was made (Kinney/Nolasco) and passed that Jane be reimbursed $44.00 for stamps purchased when she wrote thank you letters for donations to the December Awards Banquet. APHA POINTS: Marjorie reported that APHA has revised their point system for Amateur and Novice qualifications and advised those exhibitors to check their current/new status. YOUTH CLUB REPORT: Melissa Buono reported the following: The APHA Youth/Amateur Show will be held on July 14 at the Gloucester County Fairgrounds. The Youth Clinic will be held the end of March. Their Christmas Party this year was a Bowling Party. The Club is still collecting and delivering food to the Pitman Food Pantry. CASINO NIGHT FUNDRAISER: Debbie Kinney reported that she has booked the Sportsman s Club in Salem County from 6:00 10:00 PM for the next Casino Night. She is suggesting that we have the food donated as we did for the previous fundraiser. Motion was made (Nolasco/K. Ware) and passed that we hold this fundraiser again this year. Debbie also suggested that we make it a benefit for the Make Some Noise Chapter for Pediatric Cancer. Motion was made

Pg. 2/Jan. 9, 2012 (Moyer/Nolasco) and passed that we donate between 30% and 40% of our profit to this charity. AWARDS BANQUET: It was requested that, in the 2012 Banquet program, members who show at a GSPHC show, but do not receive an end of year award, be listed in the banquet program as participating members. Motion was made (Mantini/Munn) and passed that this be done. 2011 BENEFIT CLASS RECIPIENT: Jane Munn noted that the Club will need a letter of acknowledgment from the Kidney Foundation for our 2011 Benefit Class donation to them. SHOW COMMITTEE REPORT: Jane Munn, Chairperson, reported the following: The start time for all GSPHC shows will be 7:00 AM. Timed events/etc. will be the last classes on Saturday evening for all shows. Discussion on all inclusive fees will be held at the next Show Committee meeting scheduled for January 13, 2012. SPB classes will be added for Amateurs. Walk-Trot classes will be held, back to back. Motion was made (Munn/Nolasco) and passed that Open and Amateur Driving classes be added to all three shows. BAKE SALES: Debbie Kinney reported that she will be having GSPHC fund raising bake sales at the April and September shows. 50% of the profits will go to GSPHC and 50% will be retained by Debbie by her expenses. Pg. 3/Jan. 9, 2012 SHAVINGS: The Dream Park no longer permits shows to bring in their own shavings vendors as we have done in the past. The cost to the Committee for Dream Park shavings is $5.50. It was recommended that we charge the exhibitors $7.00. However, it will be noted on the back of the show program as Market Price. TRAILER-IN FEE: The Dream Park charges the show committee $15/trailer. It was recommended that we charge $20. CAMPER FEES: The Dream Park charges the show committee $50/week-end. It was recommended that we charge $75. VENDORS: GSPHC charges vendors only what the Dream Park charges us. CREDIT CARDS: Discussion was held on accepting credit card payments. It was decided that this would not be done. OPEN/PAINT INCENTIVE SHOW: GSPHC will hold an Open Horse Show (including some Paint classes) on May 5 at the Salem County Fairgrounds.
