Complete results from this district contest will be in next month s newsletter! TEXAS CATTLE FEEDERS ASSOCIATION 2015 Junior Fed Beef Career & Leadership Program APPLICATIONS DUE MAY 15! The Junior Fed Beef Career & Leadership Program is designed for youth who have demonstrated a desire to pursue a career related to the fed beef industry. This tour is designed to educate participants on feedyard operations and career opportunities in the fed beef industry. Students will participate in operation problem solving and leadership activities. Applicants must be incoming high school juniors or seniors for the 2015-16 school year and be at least 16 years old at time of program. DISTRICT 1 PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP Tuesday, June 23, 2015 2015 Texas 4-H Roundup June 8-11 9:30am 3pm What to bring: Camera, Walking Shoes and Enthusiasm Cost: $20.00 Lunch will be provided. Workshop consists of videography at KAMR, downtown Amarillo scavenger hunt, sessions on dark room, how to judge, micro photography, portrait photography. Sign up on 4-H Connect May 18 through June 5. Tuesday, May 5 5:15pm Extension 3 Office This year s competition will be held June 19-21 at the Collin County Adventure Camp in Anna, Texas. Register on 4-H Connect May 1-May 31, 2015. Fundamentals of Money Management May 13th 4-5pm This meeting is for anyone interested in starting the project. It is also for all 4-Hers who have been enrolled in the project. The District 1 4-H Program is pleased to announce an opportunity for county 4-H programs to have volunteers certified as coaches in shotgun. The training and certification will be conducted on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9, at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Potter County, 3301 E. 10 th, Amarillo, Texas. The training will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, May 8, and conclude on Saturday evening. Registration will be on 4-H Connect. The registration fee is $100. The fee includes two meals, insurance and printed resources. Registration is currently open and will close on Wednesday, May 6. Please call Shelby if you need more information or you would like to register.

Project News DOG PROJECT 4pm, Bull Barn-Coliseum Dog Project meetings will be held weekly beginning on Wednesday, April 29th through May 27th (Except project meeting on May 13th. It has been moved to May 14th.) Project Meetings will include: April 29th-Register Your Dog with the City of Dalhart (Do not bring your dog.) Bring $5.00/dog to pay for registering & your dog s current rabies tag. You must have your dogs rabies tag. May 6th-Basic Health & Nutrition Tips (Do not bring your dog.)
