TITLE: Coach REPORTS TO: High Officer ( HPO ) ROLE PERIOD: December 2016 - September 2017 REMUNERATION: Voluntary NUMBER OF ROLES: Up to 12 coaches, variable ROLE DESCRIPTION: The Lacrosse Association ( ALA ) is seeking a team of coaches to work collaboratively for the 2017 Programme ( JHPP ). The purpose is to develop confident and skilled high performance coaches under the mentorship of other coaches including international coaches. You will be required to commit to at least 50% of the monthly s as well as both the January and July camps. If you are unable to attend the camps but wish to be involved in our September representative teams, please discuss this further with the HPO. See Appendix 1 for a calendar. Note: advertisements for individual coaching appointments will be made for tournaments at later dates. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: General: Collaborate and learn from other coaches, local and international Create a positive and encouraging environment for players Establish and maintain open communication with player parent/guardians and the ALA Ensure the health and safety of players at s and games Represent the ALA in a professional manner Abide by any relevant policies set out by the ALA Team Selection: Work alongside the HPO, other coaches and selectors to select an JHPP squad
Avoid instances of potential bias in selection by identifying conflict of interest with the ALA prior to selection Training Sessions: Be available for the January and July JHPP camps Be available for 50% of the monthly one day long days Plan and deliver team s in lead up to tournaments Ensure that s are skill and age appropriate Develop players skills, lacrosse IQ and general personal development as a sportsperson DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ideally two years of experience coaching or playing girls lacrosse Passionate about lacrosse and lacrosse Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record of successful people management skills A drive to succeed and help players succeed Innovative and open-minded Highly competitive If you would like to apply to be a coach in our programme, please send a short email to Marina Samountry ala.junioracademy@gmail.com outlining: 1.
