Register your application by completing the attached application form (page 4) and (a) Print, Complete, Scan, email to entries@petanquelondon.co.uk OR (b) Complete electronically and email to entries@petanquelondon.co.uk OR (c) Complete and post to: Entries London Petanque Championship 141 Vaughan Road Harrow HA1 4EF 3. You are advised to make your Application as soon as possible and no later than 5pm on Monday 30 th April 2018 which date is the Backstop Closing Date. The Closing Date may be brought forward if the Event is oversubscribed before 30 th April 2018. 4. Each team will be informed after the Backstop Closing Date (or before the Backstop Closing Date if the Event is oversubscribed) if your application has been successful or not. 5. London Petanque Championship London Petanque Club English Petanque Association Definitions: ( the Event ) ( LPC ) ( EPA ) 1. The entry fee is 30.00 per team which must be paid into the nominated bank account of LPC (without any deductions of bank charges or exchange rates) within 14 days of the date of notification of your successful application. 2. No licences are required 3. No teams of 4 players 4. The Event is limited to 64 teams 5. With 64 teams, the Event will have 7 rounds in which the winner of the Event will have won all their rounds. 6. With 64 teams, there will be 16 leagues of 4 teams. (i) 2 wins (and no losses) = qualification after the second round to Gold Event (ii) 2 losses (and no wins) = qualification after second round to Plate Event (iii) Barrage Winner (two wins and one loss) = qualification after third round to Silver Event (iv) Barrage Loser (one win and two losses) = qualification after third round to Bronze Event. 7. If there is a league of 3 teams only then each will play each other and Points Difference will count towards teams qualification. 8. The Gold, Silver, Bronze and Plate are direct knockouts so that each of the four events will progress from round 4 (last 16 teams) to round 5 (last 8 teams) to round 6 (last 4 teams) and to round 7 (finals) 9. With 64 teams the prize pot will be divided as follows: (i) Gold Winner 2,400.00 Gold Runner Up 1,200.00 Gold Losing Semi-finalist 300.00 each (ii) Silver Winner 600.00 Silver Runner up 300.00 (iii) Bronze Winner 180.00 Bronze Runner Up 90.00 (iv) Plate Winner 60.00 Plate Runner up 45.00 10. (i) LPC is registered with EPA and has the benefit of EPA Insurance Policy. EPA Licensed Players will have the benefit of EPA Insurance Cover (and foreign players who are licensed are likely to have cover from their own federation insurance policy) (ii) Since unlicensed players may participate in the event, all players should consider taking their own additional insurance cover as the EPA insurance may not cover all eventualities and in particular liabilities which may arise concerning unlicensed players and spectators (iii) Unlicensed players should consider taking their own insurance cover in respect of any liabilities arising from the Event. 11. The event may be cancelled at any time due to: (i) insufficient entries (ii) any events beyond the control of LPC (iii) Withdrawal of financial support from donors and/or sponsors (iv) no refunds will be paid if cancellation of the Event takes place after the end of the first round. 12. After receiving notification of a successful application to play in the Event each player of that team agrees that LPC or its officers or members will not be liable for any loss which may arise from the Event or as a result of the cancellation of the Event. 13. The Event will be filmed and photographed and LPC reserve the right to use all footage for publicity purposes for LPC and in perpetuity. Page 3

TOP PLAYERS TO COMPETE AT EVENT Instead of just watching these players on French TV, why not enter a team and have the chance to learn from the best. We have confirmed attendance of Belgian world champion Claudy Weibel who has been crowned best in the world in both singles and triples. He will be playing with two time triples world champion David le Dantec from France. The Americans are making the trip across the pond, and are coming in force, with some of the country's top players forming fully American teams and linking up with English and French talents. Luc Saeys and Dominique Van De Woestijn having both played for Belgium are teaming up, both players have great experience of high level competition. German coach Alex Bauer will be teaming up with European championship bronze medalist Noel Kempeneers from Holland. We also have strong English teams already signed up and are waiting to see who else of the top English players will take this opportunity to play against some of the best players to have come to England to play. Although the players listed above all have an intimidating list of achievements, they all have great experience and are great sportsmen too. This is an opportunity for new players, players looking to improve and young players to test themselves against them and learn from them.
