All 4-H members with animal projects must participate in Showmanship and Grooming/Fitting classes, if offered; to be eligible for type classes at Roundup unless they obtain permission to be excused for school classes or further education. 4-H Market Beef will be weighed in on Sunday, August 20 th at 3:30 p.m. All animal entries MUST be entered in the Fair Entry Program by Friday, July 13, 2018. Confirmation and mail it with a check payable to the Crawford County Fair to the respective Open Department Chairman. Entries will not be officially accepted by the Department Chairmen until payment is received. Deadline: Postmarked by Friday, July 20, 2018. NOTE: There is no additional entry fee for 4-H Departments, only for Open Departments. Registration papers and Health papers must be presented at check-in on Saturday, August 18, 2017, from 8:00 AM to Noon and 2:00-6:00 p.m. Beef will be released at 8:00 PM on Saturday. A copy of health papers must be given to the Department Chairman at check-in. The Fair Veterinarian, Dr. Nicole Drummond, is responsible for supervising checking in animals onto the Fairgrounds and has the final word on removal of animals from the grounds for health reasons. If a Veterinarian is needed for any other medical reason, you as the exhibitor, are responsible for all treatment costs incurred. 1. When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter and in charge of the owner or owner representative. 2. Breeding animals must be in owner's name and care no later than May 1 of the current year. See Health Regulations in Open Beef Dept. 06 Hay, grain, and bedding are to be furnished by the exhibitor. Beef are to be weighed at the Fair on Sunday afternoon. All animals shown under this Section must be castrated, including two year projects. Those beef below 900 lbs. will be shown in the feeder beef class. Heifers may not compete in both breeding and feeder classes.
