Hazards Identification Emergency Overview INHALATION: May cause coughing, sneezing or labored breathing if large amounts are inhaled. INGESTION: Considered essentially non-toxic by ingestion. Ingestion of very large amounts may cause sore throat, nausea, headache, and may cause unconsciousness in severe cases. May be converted into hydrogen sulfide in the intestine. SKIN CONTACT: May cause irritation. EYE CONTACT: Irritant to human eyes. May cause redness and pain. May cause permanent eye damage. Route(s) of Entry: Inhalation? Yes, Skin? Yes, Eyes? Yes, Ingestion? No Potential Health Effects (Acute and Chronic) Corrosive to skin and eyes. Causes irritation and inflammation to mucous membrane and respiratory passages. Prolonged exposure to sulfur dust can produce skin sensitization and permanent eye clouding of the eye lens and chronic irritation. Recommended Exposure Limits NE Signs and Symptoms Of Exposure Irritation of skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated By Exposure

Repeated exposure to sulfur dust may cause skin irritation or allergic responses to sensitive individuals. SECTION 4. First Aid Measures Emergency and First Aid Procedures IF SWALLOWED: Do NOT induce vomiting. Drink large quantities of water and contact physician or Poison Control Center. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air. Contact a physician if irritation persists. IF IN EYES: Flush eyes immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. IF ON SKIN: Immediately was with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Consult with physician if irritation persists. SECTION 5. Fire Fighting Measures Flash Pt: N.E. Explosive Limits: LEL: NE UEL: NE Fire Fighting Instructions As with any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent) and full protective gear. Flammable Properties and Hazards Sealed containers may rupture when heated due to release of water from crystals. Material is acidic when dissolved in water; contact with magnesium metal may evolve hydrogen gas. Anhydrous cupric sulfate formed on water loss (white in color). Anhyrdrous salt will ignite hydroxylamine, if present. Hazardous Combustion Products Fine dust dispersed in the air in sufficient quantities, and in the presence of an ignition source, is a potential dust explosion hazard. Extinguishing Media Non-combustible Unsuitable Extinguishing Media SECTION 6. Accidental Release Measures Steps To Be Taken In Case Material Is Released Or Spilled Use clean-up procedures that avoid dust generation. Use a NIOSH or MSHA approved respirator if dust is likely to form with clean-up. Use protective clothing if skin contact is likely. Shovel material into disposal containers. SECTION 7. Handling and Storage Precautions To Be Taken in Handling Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing dust. Precautions To Be Taken in Storing Store in closed containers in a cool, dry well-ventilated area away from heat sources and reducing agents. Keep away from galvanized pipe and nylon equipment. If container or bag is damaged, place the container or bag in a plastic bag. Use good housekeeping practices to prevent dust accumulation. Other Precautions KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Not for human use. SECTION 8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Respiratory Equipment (Specify Type) Dust filter mask is recommended as minimal protection. A respiratory protection program that meets OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 requirements must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant respirator use. For concentrations up to 10 times the exposure limit, use NIOSH/MSHA approved full- or half-face, air-purifying respirator. Eye Protection Tight fitting goggles will reduce eye injury. Protective Gloves Cloth or leather gloves will protect skin. Engineering Controls (Ventilation etc.) Local Exhaust: sufficient Special: Mechanical (Gen): Other: Work/Hygienic/Maintenance Practices Remove personal protection equipment after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing. Wash hands before eating, smoking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using restroom. Avoid creating product dusts. SECTION 9. Physical and Chemical Properties Physical States: [ ] Gas [ ] Liquid [ X ] Solid Melting Point: Boiling Point: Autoignition Pt: Flash Pt: N.E. Method: Explosive Limits: LEL: NE UEL: NE Specific Gravity (Water = 1): 0.51 Vapor Pressure (vs. Air or mm Hg): Vapor Density (vs. Air = 1): Evaporation Rate (vs Butyl Acetate=1): Solubility in Water: Other Solubility Notes very low to none Percent Volatile: Corrosion Rate: ph: 12.5 Appearance and Odor Grey fine powder with slight "chemical" odor SECTION 10. Stability and Reactivity Stability: Unstable [ ] Stable [ X ] Conditions To Avoid - Instability None known Incompatibility - Materials To Avoid Acids, acetylene gas, aluminum powder, hydroxylamine, magnesium, moist air. Contact with magnesium metal can generate dangerous levels of hydrogen gas.
