Post entries will be charged $10.00 per entry. One exhibitor bracelet for each horse entered will be given to Heavy Horse exhibitors. Entries can be made online at metcalfefair.com. Special Notice Any person who shall attempt to interfere with the judges while in the discharge of their duties, who shall at any time, on the premises of the Society use any contemptuous or abusive language to any judge in consequence of any award made by him, shall forfeit his right to any premium to which he might otherwise be entitled, and may be excluded from exhibiting for one year thereafter. Judges are particularly requested to immediately report any such breach of this rule. Special Rules and Regulations Each exhibitor is subject to and should be familiar with the By-laws of the Metcalfe Agricultural Society. 1. Each exhibit of purebred stock must be accompanied by the registration papers. 2. Judging on Purebred Line Classes Friday, Sept. 28 th to commence at 11:00 a.m. Note the starting time. 3. Judging of Heavy Horse and Commercial Classes Saturday, Sept. 29 th to commence at 10:15 a.m. Classes to be judged in order as they appear. 4. Stalls may be secured by applying to the Fair Office or online and by paying $5.00 per stall - per day in advance stalls are assigned on a first come, first served basis by entry form. 5. Payments for stalls; a $10.00 membership, unless retained from last year's prize money; and proof of liability insurance must accompany all entry forms. 6. All entries received after closing date will be charged $10.00 per entry. 7. No exhibitor will be allowed more than two entries in any class. 8. Classes with an H after the class number open to heavy draft horses only. 9. Classes with a C open to commercial horses only. 10. Classes with an O are open to both draft and commercial horses. 11. Only the top 5 will be placed by the judge unless there is a difference in prize money after 5 th place. If there is a difference, the exhibits will be placed all the way out.

Heavy Horse Classes Friday, September 29 th at 11:00 a.m. Classes A Clydesdales and Shires B - Percherons C - Belgians Sections 1. Brood Mare that shows evidence of being in foal or has raised a foal during the current year. The exhibitor is required to show the mare with foal at foot or registration certificate of the foal must be provided if the foal is not shown. 2. Filly or colt foaled in 2018. 3. Filly or colt foaled in 2017. 4. Filly foaled in 2016. 5. Filly foaled in 2015. 6. Yeld mare foaled in 2012, 2013, 2014 Champion Mare, Champion Ribbon 7. Stallion foaled in 2016. 8. Stallion foaled before January 1, 2016. Champion Stallion, Champion Ribbon 9. Progeny of Dam: Two animals any age, the progeny of one dam. Each animal must have been shown in its appropriate single section if offered. Both animals must be owned by the exhibitor and registered in the exhibitor's name. 10. Get of Sire: Three animals any age, the get of one sire. Each animal must have been shown in its appropriate single section, if offered. At least one animal must be owned by the exhibitor and registered in the exhibitor's name. 11. Showmanship Class - Open to boys and girls, 18 years of age and under as of January 1, 2018. Sponsored in memory of Aldoria Bourbonnais. Each exhibitor will receive $10.00 the day of the show. 12. Clydesdale - Special - A Clydesdale filly or colt of the current year, sired by a nominated stallion from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec with the dividing line east of Hwy. #37. For a list of the nominated stallions, please contact the Eastern Regional Clydesdale Association. Prize money: 1 st - $65; 2 nd - $55; 3 rd - $45; 4 th - $35; 5 th - $25; and $20 to all remaining. 13. Ontario Bred & Sired Belgian Yearling Filly Class - Sponsored in part by the Ontario Belgian Horse Association. The Filly must be from a mare owned by a resident of the Province of Ontario at the time of service and sired by a stallion owned and standing in the province of Ontario at the time of service. The owner must be a member of the Ontario Belgian Horse Association for the current year. For 2017, the fillies must have been nominated with the Ontario Belgian Horse Association by March 1 st. A certificate bearing the name, registration number and pedigree will be issued to exhibitors for each filly upon nomination. This certificate must be available at ring side to be eligible to compete. It will be the sole responsibility of the exhibitor to have the certificate signed by the judge with the correct placing awarded at the fair. Prize money will be paid to each exhibitor by the Ontario Belgian Horse Association.
