Opening Ceremony With a helping hand from the legends of golf, the official RBC Canadian Open kickoff celebration happens on Tuesday of tournament week in the Spectator Village.

CELEBRATING LEGENDS He s a Master s champion and inductee into both the Canadian Golf and Canada Sports Halls of Fame but for Mike Weir, his National Open Championship was the one that got away. In 2004 he finished in second place, narrowly missing the opportunity to become the first Canadian since fellow Hall of Famer Pat Fletcher in 1954 to win the RBC Canadian Open. GOLDEN BEAR RETURNS Golf legend Jack Nicklaus never hoisted the RBC Canadian Open trophy but it was not from lack of trying. The World Golf Hall of Famer competed 25 times in his illustrious career including seven runner-up finishess. A member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, In 2017, Nicklaus returned to Glen Abbey, his first solo design, to help celebrate the Opening Ceremony and officially unveil The Rink.
