Dear Texas Longhorn Friends, Each year at this sale we are honored to host an event that attracts most of the leading breeders of Texas Longhorn cattle. As you may know, the sale ring at the RM has been the site of many record setting cattle over the years, and many of you have taken home cattle that became important to your breeding program and that made you money. Many people tell us that attending this sale is like a family reunion, a sale where they see old friends that they may not see again during the year. We welcome you to the RM, and we hope you will have a memorable time attending both sales this year. If you are new to the breed, we encourage you to ask questions and we hope that you will take some of the outstanding cattle in the sale home with you. If you are a veteran Texas Longhorn breeder, you know that history tells you that the quality offered in this sale presents numerous opportunities to improve your herd and increase profitability in your program. Each year we marvel at the unselfish consignments we receive and we thank all of our consignors for their continued support, both as sellers and buyers. It is important to note the growth we have seen in our industry in the past five years. New breeders continue to select the Texas Longhorn breed as the one to invest in. Each year prices for top cattle have escalated in our sale ring, with many observers wondering if they could be repeated, and each new year we see even grander figures. The investment in Texas Longhorn cattle has paid great dividends for many of us these past five years, and we think the best is yet to come. COACH SUPER BOWL Just as records have been set and reset here at the RM, throughout the breed that has become the norm. This year s Texas Legacy II now holds the breed record for sale average, high selling animal and sale gross. Texas Longhorn cattle have tremendous appeal to everyone from investors to weekend ranchers and we feel that now is a great time to own this magnificent breed. If you didn t already know it, we are true fans of this breed and encourage others to be a part of it. Since our first year in business, we have focused on owning or using the top bulls in the breed. While you are here at the ranch we invite you to view our bulls, look at their calves out in the pastures if you wish and talk to Red or Alan Sparger about our focus on bulls. We are very pleased to be able to own our interests in Coach and Super Bowl and we are very excited about Touchdown of RM. You will have a chance to buy cows bred to these fine bulls and in so doing you may benefit from our investment, hard work and experience. One final feature of this sale, started last year, is a Butler section. Lots 18 through 42 are straight Butler. There is only one other sale, the Butler Breeders Invitational, where you have such a large selection of Butler cattle. The Butler cattle, and Butler influenced cattle, have risen to the top of the breed the past 25 years both in terms of use throughout the breed and desirability in the marketplace. The horn genetics found in Butler cattle are second to none. This is a great opportunity. Most important, get involved and enjoy. Bring some friends and share in the fun. This young cow carries genes that are a rarity in this breed. She has proven to be an excellent producer herself, having had top calves with several different bulls. She had a flashy Coach bull last year. We have bred her back to Coach for another top calf. Take a look at her daughter, Lot 79. OCV 79 Coach s Redmac Yellow Lady TLB RM YELLOW BIRD P. H. This heifer is out of a Coach son that gave us some of our best heifers in two crops. He produced lots of horn and this heifer shows a ton of promise. Awonderful combination of color, pedigree and horn. To top it off, she just had her first calf, a January 20, 2006 heifer by Tejas Tornado (58 TTT at 2 1/2 years). Rock N Roll and her calf are pure pleasure to look at. Rock N Roll is exposed to Tejas Trouble (62 TTT, VJ Tommie 3 year-old son) for what should be an exceptional 3 -in-1 package. OCV PAGE 19
