Facebook Website TABLE OF CONTENTS Terrigal vs Warnervale TERRIGAL VS WARNERVALE AT WOONGARRAH OVAL Last weekend against Ourimbah Trojan Womens rugby Boat race Special thank you - Bill & Als Painting New Trojan Grant This weekend will be another tough match for the Trojans. The Warnervale team are currently in the top four and a loss for either side this weekend could see them losing touch with the top of the ladder. Warnervale have a young team that will have to play well for 80 minutes to stay with Terrigal. However, you can be assured that Dave Appleby will have his team prepared and up for the challenge. Terrigal have players coming back from injury and we very much look forward to the return of our Co-Captain and Country Representative, Marc Koteczky. Sekope Maea, Ryan Metcalfe, Joe Taylor and Dylon Calabria have been putting in great games week in and week out. Expect these guys to stand out again and really pressure the Warnervale side. Kris Diebert will make his debut in the front row this weekend so expect a big game from Kris.
Around the Grounds This is a must win match for the Terrigal side. So we need you there to cheer home our boys. Kick off will be 3.00 pm at Woongarrah Oval. See you at the Rugby! Terrigal women were the only winners for our Club in our day of rugby. Ourimbah showed they are setting the pace for this year s competition with a strong victory in the President s Cup 27-10. This win was also followed up in Premier 2 Grade with a 38-3 victory. Ourimbah, on their home ground, were very hard to beat, very quick to the break down and played strong rugby. There are no excuses here from the Trojans, too good guys. But expect us to lift. In First Grade, it was a different story, this was a tough match right through to the final whistle, that either side could have won. Terrigal were down 7-3 at half time and early in the second half Ourimbah scored again to lead. However, this was a new Terrigal team that never gave an inch and came back at the home side all the way
through the second half. The Trojan team played outstanding rugby, quickly scoring their own try to make the score 14-8 and from there it was anyone s game. The Terrigal side were camped constantly in the Ourimbah 10 metre line, they were held up twice and nearly went over at least another three times. On this occasion Terrigal did everything but score in the last two minutes as we have done in other years to win. Do not write this Trojan team off. They play for each other and showed how strong and tough they are as a unit. This Terrigal side should hold their heads high, knowing they can easily go all the way again this season. Popo pushing through to the line TROJAN WOMENS RUGBY Our Terrigal Women played some great rugby again last weekend winning their match. Our girls keep improving every week and have great numbers and enthusiasm at training. Well done girls. Great rugby!
Trojan girls against Ourimbah BOAT RACE When things don t go your way, you can always look forward to the boat race to make your day brighter. Last weekend, Ethan, Josh Cotter and Tim Date, who were previously undefeated, took on the Ourimbah boat race team. Unfortunately, in the middle of the race we slowed, or Ourimbah were very fast. Either way, our boys could only finish a valiant second on the day. Good rugby to both clubs.
SPECIAL THANK YOU BILL & ALS PAINTING Local painters Bill Thomas and his wife, Adele, have got behind the Trojan Club and have this week painted all the eves, columns and externals to freshen up our Trojan building as part of their sponsorship of the Club. Although this should be Council s maintenance it is very important to our Club to keep our building in its best presentation at all times. This work would not have been possible without the help of Bill Thomas and his team of tradesman and Sadies who completed the entire building washdown. Thanks again, Bill. Bill and Als team
