SPECIAL CLASSES Dressage Equita on - Dressage Equita on is a group class in which the rider s seat, posi on and use of the aids are evaluated. Riders will be asked to show medium & free walk, rising & si ng working trot, working canter (not required for Class 27) & the transi ons between the gaits. The judge may ask for other gaits or individual movements appropriate for the level of the class entered. If entries warrant, classes may be split into smaller groups. Suitable for Dressage Horse Suitability is a group class in which the horse s natural gaits and suitability for the sport of dressage are evaluated. They will be judged under saddle in the walk, trot and canter in both direc ons. Conforma on & overall impression may also be judged. This class is open to 7 year old & younger horses, mares & geldings only. Sorry, no stallions please. Also, no horses that have competed above First Level please. Pony Club/ 4-H Dressage - These classes are open ONLY to current Pony Club and 4-H Members. These classes are Test of Choice at their respec ve levels. Any current test at that level can be chosen. The class will be pinned for the top 6 riders according to scores. Please note WHICH Pony Club or 4H Group you belong to on the entry form. OTTB Dressage These classes are open ONLY to horses who are O the Track Thoroughbreds. The horse must have a Jockey Club Ta oo number. Please record his/her o cial Jockey Club registered name on the entry form. The length of me o the track does not ma er. These classes are Test of Choice at their level. Any current test at that level can be chosen. The class will be pinned for the top 6 riders according to scores. Any ques ons, please contact the secretary. Show Commi ee reserves the right to combine, cancel, split or rearrange classes or divisions as deemed necessary for the bene t of the show schedule and to refuse an entry from anyone for any reason. 4

OVCTA CHAMPIONSHIP Guidelines All riders wishing to compete for the OVCTA Club Championship MUST be an OVCTA member in good standing as of October 15th of the current calendar year. All horse/rider combina ons must achieve their quali ca ons during the current year of compeon. If riders qualify at more than one level, they may choose which level they want to compete at for championship. For OVCTA Dressage Championship - Classes will be offered at USDF, Training Level and First Level. Second Level & Above will be combined. Championship tests will be USDF Test B, Training Level Test 2 and First Level Test 2. At Second Level & Above, the tests will be as follows: Second Level Test 2, Third Level Test 2, Fourth Level Test 2 and FEI TOC. All tests must be ridden from memory and no whips will be permi ed. To qualify, a horse/rider combina on must have achieved two or more scores from at least two di erent judges of 60% or higher at USDF Level or Training Level and 58% or higher at First Level or higher at OVCTA schooling or OVCTA Points shows. FEI riders must qualify with the same test to be ridden in the Championship class. For OVCTA Combined Training Championship - Classes will be offered at Elem/Starter, Beginner Novice, Novice and Training & Above levels. Elementary & Starter divisions will be combined; Training & Above divisions will be combined. To qualify, a horse/rider combination must place 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd in any OVCTA combined test, OVCTA Points Show OR in any recognized or unrecognized non-ovcta horse trials. If you qualify at a non-ovcta show or OVCTA Points show, it is YOUR responsibility to inform the show secretary of your qualification prior to the Big Fall Show closing date. ARENAS and WARM-UP: A small (20mx40m) arena with either grass or sand foo ng will be used for all USDF Intro and USEF CT dressage tests. A standard (20mX60m) arena with sand foo ng will be used for all Training Level & above dressage classes. Dressage Equita on & Suitable for Dressage classes are group classes which will be held in one of the main fenced arenas. Foo ng is sand in both main arenas and warm-up area for dressage. Combined Test jumping phase will be held in the main fenced arena. Jumping warm-up area could be in sand arena or on grass. Lunging is NOT permi ed in the fenced warm-up areas, but is permi ed on the grass away from the compeon arenas. HANDWALKING ONLY is permi ed around the outside of the dressage arenas prior to the start of classes at the beginning of the day. 5

Check for full amount of fees, payable to: OVCTA Returned checks will incur an addi onal fee of $35.00. *The Grounds Fee: of $5.00 per entry is due per entry and is nonrefundable. Please take manure home with you. **Late Fee Policy: Entries must be RECEIVED by the closing date. Late entries will be accepted as me and class size permit. If accepted, a $10.00 late fee will be due, payable before the rider may compete. Incomplete entries may be returned or placed on a wai ng list. Refund policy: Full refunds given before closing date. Refunds a er closing date less $10.00 o ce fee with Vet or MD cercate provided prior to the show date. No refunds will be given a er the date of show. If the show is cancelled for any reason, entries will be refunded minus an o ce fee of $10. 6

ATTIRE Saddlery & a re as for USDF/USEF licensed compeon. USEF rules apply to Dressage and Combined Tests with this excep on: Approved ASTM/SEI helmets with chin straps are REQUIRED to be worn by everyone at every level of compeon and at all mes while mounted. For CT jumping and warm-up, medical armbands are REQUIRED. Whips will NOT be permi ed in Championship dressage classes. All Championship dressage tests must be performed from memory, no readers will be permi ed. A Note about Medical Armbands: No one will be allowed to compete in Combined Training without wearing one. If you do not have one, they will be for sale at the secretary s stand for $20. The medical card inside must be completed before jumping compeon. The informa on on the medical armband is necessary for the EMS personnel in case of an accident. We require this as a safety precau on. Please be sure to have yours completed and on your arm BEFORE warming up for your jumping round. Thank you! COMBINED TRAINING RIDERS Please note you will be REQUIRED to present your medical armband to the show secretary before you can receive your rider packet and show number at check-in. A Bit Check will be performed on every horse compe ng to check for permissible bits, whip length, other appropriate tack & equipment allowable under USEF rules. The horse/rider combina on must check in prior to being allowed to enter the ring. If the equipment is not permissible, and not able to be changed to legal equipment before the rider s assigned ride me, the rider may be allowed to ride their test (at the discre on of the show commi ee) but will not be considered for placing (recorded as HC). The judge and/or show commi ee have the nal decision in case of any ques on. OTHER INFORMATION A food truck will be available on the grounds. Please bring water for horses with you. (Sorry, Tadpole & Elementary CT are not eligible). Best Scoring Junior Award Under 18 years of age, includes Dressage and CT classes. Master s Award Riders over 50 years of age, includes Dressage and CT classes. Club championship classes o ered in Dressage and Combined Training. In Dressage, Champion & Reserve ribbons will be given along with placing of 3rd to 6th. In Combined Training Championship, you ride only ONCE, but are eligible to receive Champion, Reserve, or placing ribbon 3rd thru 6th in the Champ class as well as a 1st-6th ribbon in the Open division since they are frequently combined.
