Levels to be offered are USDF Introductory, USEF Training through Second Level and above and USEA Beginner Novice through Prelim. Each test will be considered a class. 2. All USEF Training level and above tests will be performed in a standard arena. All USDF Intro level tests and USEA tests will be performed in a small arena. 3. Tests may be called but you must arrange your own caller. We highly encourage all tests ridden at First Level and above and USEA Beginner Novice and above be ridden from memory. 4. Tests to be used 2015 USDF Intro tests 2015 USEF Level Dressage tests for Training level and above 2018 USEA Beginner Novice through Preliminary (may choose test A or B) DEEP SOUTH REGION S SHOW GROUND RULES The SHOW GROUND is identified as the o area in and around the show barns o area in and around all show arenas, warm up areas and cross country course o area in and around the concession stand o any area where a mounted or unmounted competitor is present SMOKING POLICY: Smoking is not allowed on the Show Grounds or in the presence of any members at the rally. DOG POLICY: For the safety of our competitors and spectators, dogs are not allowed on the Show Grounds and must be leashed at all times. Dogs must never be left unattended. MOTORIZED VEHICLES: ALL motorized vehicles operated anywhere on the show ground facility must be operated by a licensed driver. Use of Bar-b-que pits or any other cooking devise that produces smoke will not be allowed near the show arenas, warm up areas or the show barns. GENERAL SHOW INFORMATION 1. A 12 month negative coggins dated March 19, 2017 or later must be included with all entries. Any entry received without a Coggins will be considered incomplete and the late fee will be assessed. 2. Attire should be casual and tidy with hard soled shoes required. All riders must wear a protective helmet with a secure retention system. All riders must wear a medical armband or medical bracelet and a protective vest when on the open cross country course. 3. Show T-shirt: Commemorative shirts are available by preorder only. NOTE: Shirt order forms and payment must made to Cantering Cajuns Pony Club(see order form). Personal checks will be accepted. Orders must be received by March 1st. There will be a VERY limited number of extra shirts for sale at rally. 4. Ribbons to 6 th place will be awarded in each division. High point awards will be given in the HT and CT divisions. 5. Concession stand will be available in the club house.
6. Emergency personnel will be on grounds during all riding phases 7. Longeing will be limited to the open area between the jump arena and show barns. To comply with USPC guidelines, the person longeing must wear a helmet and paddock boots (or similar footwear). 8. USPC events depend on volunteers for success. Since the Cross Country phase needs the greatest number of volunteers, in order for us to hold this phase we will need any adult spectators to volunteer as Cross Country Jump Judges. An orientation meeting will be held Sat evening with time TBA. No prior experience necessary. 9. A coaches meeting will be held Sat AM (Time and location TBA). All Coaches must check in to receive their identification band. HOTEL: A block of 25 rooms has been reserved at Country Inn and Suites, 130 Holiday Blvd, Covington, LA 70433; (985) 809-0467. Available rooms are Standard Double Queen for $95/night plus tax, and Queen private Suite for $115/ night plus tax. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes away from rally grounds. Breakfast is included and will open at 6am. Reservations need to be made by March 1st and you must mention that you are with Deep South Region Pony Club. There are other hotels in this area if you wish to shop around. HOOKUPS: A limited number of spots are available at Lagniappe for $50 for the weekend. There will be spots reserved for rally officials so these spots may not be used. The remainder of the hookup spots are available on a first come basis. Please be prepared to use generator power in case all hookups are taken. Payment for the spot must be made Friday when checking in and all checks need to be written to Lagniappe Equestrian Center. DIRECTIONS TO LAGNIAPPE: Coming from I-12 (east or west): Take Covington/Mandeville exit to US 190 toward Covington. Once through Covington take split to the left onto Hwy 25. Stay on Hwy 25 through Folsom. Once through Folsom you will see Spencer s Feed Store on the left and almost immediately the sign for Lagniappe on the right (white sign with jumping horse). Turn right onto Verger road. Lagniappe is at the end of the road. Coming from I-59: Take Poplarville exit, Hwy 26 west towards Bogalusa. Once through Bogalusa, this hwy will turn into Hwy 10. Stay on Hwy 10 through Franklinton. Once through Franklinton take Hwy 25 south towards Folsom. Before reaching Folsom you will see the sign for Lagniappe (white sign with jumping horse) on your left. Turn left onto Verger road. Lagniappe is at the end of the road. HINT: If you see Spencer s Feed Store on your right you have gone too far. Coming from I-55: Take Amite Exit (Hwy 16). Go east on Hwy 16. Turn right onto Route 450 South. This will dead end at Hwy 25. Turn right onto Hwy 25 towards Folsom. At about 1.5 miles, before reaching Folsom, you will see the sign for Lagniappe (white sign with jumping horse) on your left. Turn left onto Verger road. Lagniappe is at the end of the road. THE UNITED STATES PONY CLUBS, INC. RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT FOR USPC NON-MEMBERS This document waives important legal rights. Read it carefully before signing. I AGREE for myself, and/or my child, my/our administrators and assigns, in consideration for my, and/or my child s, participation in this United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC) activity to the following: I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in an USPC activity, as a rider, driver, handler, lessee, owner, agent, spectator, volunteer, and/or trainer. I am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports and USPC activities involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including, but not limited to, broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain, suffering or death ( Harm ). I fully understand that this release covers, but is not limited to, inherent risks of an equine activity which mean a danger or condition that is an integral part of an equine activity, including but not limited to, any of the following: The propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, death, or loss to persons on or around the equine; The unpredictability of an equine s reaction to sounds, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; Hazards, including, but not limited to, surface or subsurface conditions; A collision with another equine, another animal, a person, or an object; The potential of an individual during an equine activity to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury, death, or loss to the person of the participant or to other persons, including but not limited to, failing to maintain control over an equine or failing to act within the ability of the participant. I Acknowledge that it is my/parent/legal guardian responsibility to ensure that I am/my child is wearing a completed wristband or armband card at this USPC activity. I authorize USPC, it successors or assigns, officials, officers, directors, employees, agents and/or volunteers to obtain and release to any USPC activity personnel (including, but not limited to, organizers, instructors, test examiners, chaperones), and to any first aid and safety personnel, medical professional, and treating medical facility, any information regarding my/my child s medical history, symptoms, treatment, exam results and/or diagnosis contained in the wristband or armband card. Furthermore, I agree and understand that it is my/parental/legal guardian responsibility to ensure that I/my child will not participate in any USPC mounted activities if I/my child have/has had a head injury or other medical condition and have/has been restricted from activity, until such time as the injury or condition is resolved and any activity restriction is lifted. I AGREE to release the USPC, its successors or assigns, officials, officers, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers and affiliated organizations from all claims including, but not limited to, claims for money or property, disability, covenants, actions, suits, causes or action, obligations, debts, costs, expenses, attorneys fees, judgments, orders and liabilities of whatsoever kind or nature in law, equity or otherwise, whether now known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, and whether concealed or hidden, including but not limited to any state or federal statutory or common law claim or remedy of any kind whatsoever arising out of or in any way connected with any Harm to me or my horse and for any Harm caused by me or my horse to others, even if the Harm resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the USPC or the USPC activity. I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the USPC or the USPC activity, and specifically agree to the applicable state statute/law regarding equine/farm animal activity liability and signed posting (if any), in any state in which I or my child participates in a USPC activity. While a list of state statues and select portions of those statues believed to be in effect at the time of the execution of this agreement is attached hereto, I AGREE to locate, review and understand the full applicable state statutes in place in my jurisdiction. I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the USPC and the USPC activity and to hold them harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse in the USPC activity. I AGREE that neither I, nor any one claiming through me, will hereafter bring, commence, prosecute or maintain, or cause or permit to be brought, commenced, prosecuted or maintained, any suit or action, either at law or in equity, in any court in the United States or in any state thereof, or elsewhere, against the USPC, its successors or assigns, for, on account of, arising out of, or in any way connected with any Harm to me or my horse, and that neither I, nor any one claiming though me, will enforce, prosecute, or recover upon, or attempt to enforce, prosecute, or recover upon, any claim or right of action whatsoever, which I, or any one claiming though me, may now have or hereafter assert, in any way connected with claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harms caused by me or my horse at the USPC activity. I AGREE this Agreement is the entire agreement of the parties, and supersedes all prior oral and written understandings and agreements. This Agreement may be modified only by a written amendment signed by both parties. I AGREE that if any provision of the Agreement is found to be invalid or illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall be construed as if the affected provision had not been included in order to effectuate the intent of the parties. In the event this form is signed by the parent/guardian of a minor, then all representations and acknowledgements herein are expressly made by, for, and on behalf of the parent/guardian and minor. By signing below, I AGREE to be bound by all applicable USPC rules and all terms and provisions of the USPC activity.
