Mode of operation Pressure compensation (DN 20 only) Mechanical Accessories The ball valve has been designed for use in stationary heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and is not allowed to be used outside the specified field of application, especially in aircraft or in any other airborne means of transport. It may only be installed by suitably trained personnel. Any legal regulations or regulations issued by authorities must be observed during assembly. The ball valve does not contain any parts that can be replaced or repaired by the user. The ball valve may not be disposed of as household refuse. All locally valid regulations and requirements must be observed. The recognized rules should be applied when determining the flow characteristic of final controlling elements The 6-way ball valve is adjusted using a rotary actuator. The actuator is controlled by a modulating control system or via an MP bus signal and moves the ball of the valve to the position dictated. If the valve is turned in the clockwise direction (till the end stop), e.g. the cooling sequence is fully enabled, if the valve is turned in the counter-clockwise direction (90 ), e.g. the heating sequence is fully enabled. A pressure relief bore hole is integrated in one connection gate of the R3020-.. 6-way ball valves. The positive and negative pressures in the thermal heated/chilled ceiling arising from temperature fluctuations when the valve is closed are compensated for by means of this bore hole. R3015-..-..-B2 / R3020-..-..-B2 Characterised control valves, 6-way, with internal threads Installation notes Recommended installation positions The valve may be mounted either vertically or horizontally. It is not permissible, mounting the valve with the stem pointing downwards. 90 90 Water quality requirements Maintenance Flow direction The water quality requirements specified in VDI 2035 must be adhered to. Characterised control valves are relatively sensitive control devices. In order to ensure a long service life, it is advisable to fit strainers. Characterised control valves and rotary actuators are maintenance-free. Before any kind of service work is carried out, it is essential to isolate the rotary actuator from the power supply (by disconnecting the power lead). Any pumps in the part of the piping system concerned must also be switched off and the appropriate isolating fittings closed (allow everything to cool down first if necessary and reduce the pressure in the system to atmospheric). The system must not be returned to service until the ball valve and the rotary actuator have been properly reassembled in accordance with the instructions and the pipework has been refilled in the proper manner. The flow direction must be observed. The position of the ball can be identified from the L-marking on the stem.
