Half Mile Reef The sea floor anchor is a rock pin epoxied into the hard pan bottom. Long chain through the pin is then shackled to a polypropylene mooring line. Small white surface float with a good pickup line Depth: Approx. 45 ft. Recommended site for a sea floor anchor: current epoxied rock pin is in good shape 83

Problems: Needs more flotation on the chain to keep it from dragging on the bottom. Better surface float. Current GPS: 21º 29.910 N, 072º 12.450 W Status: 2/17/13 The thimble on the mooring line at the sea floor has shifted 180 degrees and will soon cut through the line. 3/11/13 Mooring line has been cut Provo Turtle Divers put a new float on it and will hopefully add a new pick up line in a day or so. 84

G Spot The existing mooring is a attached to an epoxied U bolt it has about 8-10 feet of chain attached to the U-bolt and then to a polypro line - chain is in good shape and has a float attached to it in an effort to keep it off the bottom, but the float is partially deflated and needs more air to prevent further damage to the coral surrounding the U-bolt mooring polypro line is in ok shape, but appears to have been spliced several times near the surface 86

Depth: Approx. 45 ft. Recommended site for a sea floor anchor: current epoxied U-bolt is in good shape Problems: Inadequate surface float need to inflate the float on the chain near the bottom to better hold the chain up off the bottom mooring polypro line has multiple splices, but appears to be in adequate shape for now Current GPS: 21º 29.550 N, 072º 12.890 W Status: 3/9/13 The chain is too long and causing lots of damage needs to be shortened or eliminated and a swivel added Not sure why the chain is even needed Line at sea floor is starting to fray and get brittle Line needs to be replaced due to splicing partway up 87
