At the end of the month he bought a pair of boxing gloves, a pair of shorts and a lucky feather earring for a total of $3.95. The shorts cost 25 more than the gloves. The earring cost 5 times as much as the shorts. What was the cost of the earring? Problem 2 Three sisters, Sandra, Mandy and Jessica, robbed a bank. When they came back home, they found that they had a total of $488. They divided the money among themselves. Sandra had $37 more than Jessica. Mandy had 8 times as much money as Sandra. When Jessica went out, a policeman shot her dead and took her money. How much money do the remaining sisters have altogether?

Problem 3 Solomon, Edgar and Jenny love to play video games. They have 113 video games altogether. Jenny has 13 more video games than Solomon. Edgar has 4 times as many video games as Jenny. How many more video games than Solomon does Edgar have? Problem 4 Chad, Brad and Fred sat for their mid-year test on witchcraft. Their total score was 101. Brad scored 11 more marks than Fred. Chad's score was 6 times as much as Brad's. If the passing mark is 50, how many more marks does Brad need to pass?

Problem 5 I have a greedy dog called Murdu. When I went to the pastry shop with him, he begged me to buy some chocolate buns, flea croissants and rat pies. I bought 5 of each for a total of $53. Each croissant cost $1.30 more than a bun. Each pie cost $2.90 more than each croissant. How much did a croissant cost? Problem 6 I went to a magic shop to buy some enchanted items. A magic carpet cost $13.40 more than a flying fox and $15.30 less than a singing donkey. I bought 6 of each and paid a total of $690. How much did a singing donkey cost?

Problem 7 Dr. Dora Drummond sells hearts to heartless people. She has smart hearts, hard hearts and sweet hearts. Her hard hearts cost twice as much as her sweet hearts. Each smart heart costs $23 more than a hard heart. She sold 8 of each type of heart on Thursday and earned $1360. Her smart hearts are popular with students. How much does a smart heart cost? Problem 8 I met a fairy in the woods yesterday. She was selling some wings that could make a person fly, a teapot that was always full of tea, and an invisibility cloak. Each pair of wings cost $16.40 more than a teapot. Each cloak cost thrice as much as a pair of wings. I bought 7 of each for a total of $2552.20 with my credit card. How much did each cloak cost?

Problem 9 Three superheroes, Lizardman, Whalewoman and Gorillagirl had an argument over who could jump the highest yesterday. They then went outside and each person jumped once. The total height the three of them jumped was 149.3 meters. Whalewoman was a clear winner for she jumped 50.9 m higher than Lizardman and 80.3 m higher than Gorillagirl. How high did wonderful Whalewoman jump? Problem 10 My mom doesn't know that I keep 3 monsters in my closet. The 5-headed monster is 23.7 kg heavier than my 4-earred monster and 107.6 kg heavier than my 3-tongued monster. The total mass of my 3 monsters is 844.3 kg. What is the mass of my 5-headed monster?

Problem 11 Andre, Benito and Emilio are great guitarists and they have expensive guitars. The total price of the 3 guitars is $19,236.30. Benito's guitar costs $6,484.20 more than Andre's guitar and $3,335.70 more than Emilio's guitar. How much does Andre's guitar cost? Problem 12 Witch Wanda had 3 broomsticks whose total length was 32.15 meters. The golden broomstick was 14.49 m longer than the glass broomstick and 11.41 m longer than the steel broomstick. While she was flying on her glass broomstick last week to visit Hag Henrietta, she collided with a helicopter. Her glass broomstick shattered into millions of fragments. What was the total length of her remaining broomsticks?

Problem 13 Magician Mordoe created 39 blind creatures in his basement on Monday. On Tuesday, he went to Sorcerer Sean's magic shop and bought 39 eyeballs for $86.90. Some of the eyeballs were furry and the rest were bloodshot. Each furry eyeball cost 80 more than each bloodshot eyeball. When he brought the eyeballs home, he immediately put them under his microscope to check for viruses. As 7 of the bloodshot eyeballs had horrible viruses swimming in them, he threw them into the trash can. He had an equal number of furry eyeballs and bloodshot eyeballs after that. What was the total cost of the bloodshot eyeballs? Problem 14 Fred bought 76 chocolate newts and chocolate turds from Aunty Gert's Sweet Shop. He paid her $536 for them. Each chocolate turd cost $5.40 more than a chocolate newt. The chocolate turds were so irresistibly tasty that Fred gobbled up 24 of them on his way home. He then had an equal number of chocolate turds and chocolate newts. How much did he pay in total for the chocolate turds?

Problem 15 The government bought 80 bullet-proof vests for the SWAT team in New York. The total cost was $1414.40. There were 2 types of vests, Grade A and Grade B. Each Grade B vest cost $4.80 more than each Grade A vest. The next day, 16 SWAT team members who had been wearing Grade B vests were killed by purpleheaded aliens who had landed near the Statue of Liberty. The 16 vests had to be thrown away because they were riddled with bullets. The number of Grade A vests was the same as the number of Grade B vests after that. How much did the government pay altogether for the Grade A vests? Problem 16 Mom gave Naughty Nina $733.50 on her birthday. Nina went to a novelty store and spent all her money on 80 Goof Balls and Vanishing Shorts. Each Goof Ball cost $29.50 more than a pair of Vanishing Shorts. She went on a class trip to the beach the next day. She gave the Vanishing Shorts to 46 of her classmates and laughed her head off when their shorts disappeared while they were swimming. The shorts that vanished were never found again. The number of Goof Balls was the same as the number of Vanishing Shorts after that. How much more was the total cost of the balls than the shorts?

Problem 17 James had $5.40 more than Wendy when they went to the supermarket. James spent 2/7 of his money on a bottle of hot chili sauce. The chili sauce cost $7.40. Wendy spent 2/5 of her money on a lollipop. How much money did Wendy have after that? Problem 18 My grandma had $63.40 more than my grandpa last Sunday. My grandma spent 5/11 of her money the next day on silver dentures. The dentures cost $108. My grandpa spent 7/13 of his money on a green wig. How much money did my grandpa have after that?

Problem 19 Hunter Harry had $175.90 more than Hunter Helen. They wanted to hunt the elusive Big Foot. They went to a gun shop last week and bought a rifle each. Harry spent 8/15 of his money on a cool rifle that cost $260. Helen spent 9/19 of her money on a shotgun. How much money did Helen have after that? Problem 20 Snot-nosed Sam and Booger Brandon went to a shop to buy a tool each to help them pick their noses. Brandon had $255.80 more than Sam before they entered the shop. Sam spent 3/14 of his money on a nose picker that cost him $58.20. Brandon spent 7/18 of his cash on a silver-studded nose tickler. How much money did Brandon have after he walked out of the shop?
