EVENT DETAILS As the event is a team format, it will be imperative that you attend the event upon registration so as not to disappoint your fellow players. It will be desirable for you to attend the networking draft day, but not essential. Please note: Tournament play is MATCH PLAY format. Standard golf attire and dress code is in effect. Each golfer, upon registration, must provide a golf handicap (or an average playing score), a photo, and a brief bio on their golfing capabilities. TEAM CAPTAINS LUNCH/DINNER The Team Captains Dinner is held 1-2 weeks before the event. Team captains will choose their players at this team selection event. Location and date details will be confirmed and provided to all registered golfers. All participants are invited to attend; captains will have dinner included après team selection. GOLF DAY DETAILS The golf day will include play in a team format, and your handicap will determine if and how many strokes you have to give away for the head to head competition. For the matches you and one of your team members will be paired with an opposing team twosome for the duration of the event. 8 10 teams of 12 players will participate and the highest scoring team will be awarded the Keltic Cup trophy for the tournament. The Keltic Cup has a long and storied history and was presented to the highest scoring team in a match play format for events held over many years at Keltic Lodge in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, playing at the fabled Stanley Thompson links course, Highland Links. The format will generally be as noted below. GOLF FORMAT Round one will be a six hole alternate shot competition, where you and a partner will each play the same ball, pitting yourself and a team partner against two opposing team players. Points will be provided to the course marshals. Round two will be as above but will be a six hole better ball competition. Players will play their own ball, with the best score or better ball per team counted per hole. The team scores will be provided to the course marshals. Round three will be individual play, and players will play head to head for six holes with points awarded to the player on each team winning the greatest number of holes for the match. The two highest placing teams will play a sudden death 3 hole playoff, with format to be determined.
