Libby Logger Days Lawnmower Race Rules FLAGS/GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION FLAG OFFICIAL: Will have the final decision on all tracks and racing controversies. His decision will be final, unless the violation needs to be addressed by the Organizers because of possible violations that may lead to immediate disqualification. Grid positions may be determined by a drawing from a hat on race day. All mowers will be safety inspected before a race for safety equipment and racers gear (boots, kill switches, helmets, etc.). Upon a caution the flag official will show one finger and a rolled up YELLOW flag to indicate 1 lap remaining before the GREEN flag will restart the race. If there is a problem with restarting after giving the 1 to go, the flagman will wave crossed arms back and forth to indicate the start has been waved off. Full course cautions; all mowers will slow to an idle, bunching up in a single row, continuing until given the green flag at the start/finish line. A driver cannot pass under a caution flag. If the driver passes under a caution flag then the driver must go back to original position. If a driver is unsure of his/her current position then the driver should pull along side the position that is in question and wait for an official to indicate where the driver is to be placed. If a caution flag with less than 3 laps occurs, it will create a GREEN/WHITE/CHECKER situation. Meaning when racing resumes, the drivers will take a GREEN flag then the next lap will be a WHITE flag followed by a checkered flag. Drivers are only allowed 2 YELLOW flags per race, 1 st will be a warning with a rolled up YELLOW flag being waved at the driver. 2 nd will be a trip to the back of the pack. 3 rd will be an automatic BLACK flag PUTTING YOU OUT OF THE RACE. Upon a RED flag, stop on the track and wait for the official to line up the field back in order. Once the field is lined up, the YELLOW flag will be displayed to pace the field for a restart. If the mower(s) involved with the caution are able to regain position at the tail of the pack within 3 caution laps, they will restart with the field. All the decisions made by the official flagman are final. If you wreck or have some type of trouble with your mower, try to drive your mower off of the track. In the event is not possible to move, DO NOT step off of your mower or remove any safety equipment. Raise your hand and wait for the official to relieve you from your mower. Then and only then, you can remove your mower from the track and then your safety gear. Finishing order will be determined by what position you are going across the start and finish line. In the event that you are unable to cross the finish line the amount of laps you complete, or your distance to

the start/finish line will determine your position. All complaints and disagreements must be taken to the race Organizer after the race. The race Organizers will have final authority and be ruled upon in a case-by-case scenario in a good sportsman-like manner or will not be heard. THIS MEANS NO YELLING AT ONE ANOTHER. In the event a racer should compete with more than one mower in any given class, points will stay with the driver, not the mower. FLAGS Every driver must know the meanings of the flags and respond to their meanings precisely or they will be subjected to the races conduct rules and possible immediate disqualification. GREEN: The race/practice is under way when the green flag is waved. YELLOW: Take care, Danger. NO PASSING ON ENTIRE COURSE. Soon as any driver notices the yellow flag, he/she must raise up one of their arms to notify other drivers of the caution. Drivers then form in single file and close up with the leader, and follow the official flagman s directions. YELLOW & WHITE: These two flags drawn together by the official flagman are to indicate the field is not sufficiently bunched for the restart. If you see this signal, close it up! RED: STOP RACING IMMEDIATELY. Clear the course as much as possible. BLACK: You ve got troubles or you re in trouble. If this flag is rolled up and shaken at a driver you have been given a warning for some type of infraction or equipment violation There is only ONE warning, once an opened BLACK flag is waved at you, you re out of the race. At that point you must pull off of the track if possible and stop your mower, or into the pits, and the issue will be settled after the race. WHITE: One lap to go before race is finished. GREEN /WHITE/CHECKER: If a caution flag with less than 3 laps occurs, it creates a GREEN /WHITE/CHECKER situation. Meaning when racing resumes the drivers will take a green flag, then the next lap will be a white flag followed by a checkered flag. CHECKERED: End of race or practice session. Driver must complete lap and pull into the pits or impound area. Race officials may test drivers at any time for knowledge of flag procedures and these regulations. Drivers must pass all tests in order to practice or race.
