Some heroes may ear capes but others ear stethoscopes, sho courage in tough times, spend hours peering don microscopes, or simply offer hugs and hi-fives and e ant to celebrate them all! You can be a hero too by doing something fun or challenging to raise money that ill support the children, families and staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and soon at Perth Children s Hospital. The Dare to be a Hero adventure starts in March and runs through until the end of May. It s free to sign up and there are some great fundraising prizes and reards! We ll keep in touch ith regular tips, advice and support so you can raise the most you can for sick children. This toolkit is packed ith ideas and tips to make sure your Dare to be a Hero fundraising journey is successful and lots of fun! Your fundraising idea, be it a bake sale, casual dress day or marathon run, ill help the thousands of children ho depend on Princess Margaret Hospital and soon, Perth Children s Hospital for their health. you are giving children like Reily a chance Children like Reily are depending on you ithout your support they ouldn t have access to internationally acclaimed doctors, research projects, equipment and much more. Reily as diagnosed ith a rare blood disorder hen he as just eight months old. After contracting a life-threatening infection, he 2 underent a bone marro transplant and spent eeks in hospital. Reily s condition affects his hearing, sight and several other body functions. Despite this, he is a cheerful little boy ho loves playing ith his toy cars.

Each year over 55,000 children and their families pass through the hospital s doors for care and treatment. $ 200 $ 1,000 $ 2,000 $ 5,000 $ 8,000 can pay for one night s accommodation in Perth for parents from regional WA. can payfor a BBQ at the hospital hich is free for all patients, their families and staff. can buy a ne recliner chair so parents are as comfortable as possible at their child s bedside. can pay for music therapy for children on a ard for one month. can fund a PhD scholarship for one year, giving sick children the best chance for a healthy future. your responsibilities By running your activity in an appropriate and responsible ay, you can make sure it s fun and safe for everyone. There are guidelines and legal regulations regarding raffles and auctions in Western Australia so make sure you check if they are relevant to your activity.
