Varsity Football/Competition and Basketball Cheerleaders will be required to attend camp during the summer. Competition cheerleaders will also attend a choreography camp and summer camp at Griffin HS on given dates TBA. Therefore, it is very important that each candidate for Griffin cheerleading realize the amount of time and effort that must be put into this sport. Work and other school-related activities you decide to participate in after making the Squad should not interfere with practices or games. Griffin Cheerleading must take precedence before any extracurricular activities. Basketball Cheerleaders may not participate on any other competition or all-star teams during the course of the season. It is your responsibility to dedicate the necessary time to the Squad. Others are depending on you. Please realize the amount of dedication and commitment this sport takes. Cheerleaders will be required to follow specific rules of conduct and participation established by the administration and the cheerleading coaches. Once squad members are selected, a meeting for cheerleaders and parents will be held to discuss these rules (April 2nd). Failure to follow these stated rules will be grounds for suspension or dismissal from the team. Eligibility requirements must be met. At the meeting, a complete set of rules will be provided for each cheerleader. We will discuss the rules and practices. Parents and cheerleaders will be asked to sign a statement stating that they have read and agree to abide by the rules. Information for the first fundraiser of the new season will also be provided. 5
