After going - through its first three homestands combined, the Tribe have gone - over their last three homestands to improve to 9- at Victory Field this season. Their home record in the best in the IL West, with Toledo's - home mark coming in second. FOUR IS OKAY, FIVE IS NOT: Tribe starter Clay Holmes walked four batters over five innings yesterday, but Indy's two runs in the bottom of the fifth led to him earning his fourth win of the season. Holmes has walked exactly four batters in starts throughout his career, and he's gone an impressive - with a 2. ERA ( ER in.2 IP) in those outings. His numbers change considerably when walking exactly five batters, however, as he's just 2- with a. ERA (2 ER in.2 IP) in eight such starts. WEAR TWO BELTS: Gift Ngoepe and Jason Rogers both belted solo home runs yesterday, the second time the duo has homered in the same game this season (also: April vs. Toledo - W, 7-). The Indians have hit two-plus home runs in games this season, going a perfect - in those contests. YOU GUYS SHOULD HIT MORE HOMERS: Ngoepe's fifth-inning blast yesterday was his th career long ball in a Tribe uniform. Indy is 9- when Ngoepe homers. Rogers' pinch-hit shot in the eighth was his th career bomb for the Tribe the Indians are - in games when Rogers homers, including a - mark this year. WAKE AND RAKE: Rogers' pinch-hit homer was the third pinch-hit bomb of his career and first by a Tribe player since Jaff Decker on June, 2, in a - win over Gwinnett at Victory Field. On May 9, 2 with Milwaukee, Rogers hit a pinch-hit three-run homer off Cubs left-handed reliever Phil Coke in a 2- win at Miller Park. Later that season on Sept. 27, he launched a pinch-hit grand slam off St. Louis' then-closer Trevor Rosenthal in the top of the ninth inning in an eventual - win for Milwaukee. MADOWS: Austin Meadows collected his fourth three-hit game of the season yesterday, and Indy is a perfect - in those games. Last year, he had a pair of three-hit performanes for the Tribe, and Indy won both of those affairs as well. Meadows has 2 three-, one four- and one five-hit game in his career dating back to 2 his teams have gone a combined 2- when he records three or more knocks. THE STREAK CONTINUES: Over the first seven starts for catcher Jacob Stallings, the Indians went just - as a team. Over his last starts, the Tribe are a remarkable -. Stallings hit.2 (-for-2) through his first seven contests and threw out % of basestealers (2-for-). In his last games, he's hit.29 (-for-) and thrown out % of basestealers (-for-). EXTRA EFFORT: After hitting just.27 (-for-) in April, Danny Ortiz has batted.299 (2-for-7) since, raising his average to.2 (-for-). He has totaled eight extra-base hits (seven doubles, one triple) on the season. In his first games, he notched four doubles over his last six games, he has doubled three times and tripled once. He ripped a two-out, go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning of yesterday's - win. UNFAMILIAR EDGAR: After recording a 2.2 scoreless streak earlier this season, Edgar Santana has seen his. ERA rise to. over his last four appearances. In his last four outings, he has yielded five earned runs on hits (two home runs) over.2 frames, equating to a 9. ERA. The two-run shot he gave up Saturday night to Ozzie Albies was just the th home run he has surrendered in 7.2 career innings pitched. TRAILING AFTER SIX: The Indians have the best winning percentage among International League teams when trailing after six innings this season. Indy has trailed after six full frames in 9 contests, and they've come back to win five of those games, good for a.2 winning percentage. Toledo has the second-highest winning percentage when trailing after six, going 7-2 (.2) in 2 such affairs this season. LEADING AFTER SIX: While the Indians own the best winning percentage when trailing through six innings, they have the second-worst percentage when leading after six frames at.7 (22-). Toledo is the only other IL team with a lower winning percentage when leading through six, going just - (.7) in 2 contests. ALL-STAR WORTHY PERFORMANCE: Steven Brault was undoubtedly Indy's most reliable starting pitcher in the month of May, going 2- with a.2 ERA ( ER in 2.2 IP) in five starts. He kicked off June with a bang as well, throwing seven shutout innings with eight punchouts last Thursday night against the IronPigs, lowering his ERA to 2.2, the third-lowest mark among qualifying IL starting pitchers. He has thrown. innings (th in IL) and struck out batters this season (th in IL). CAST YOUR VOTES: The IL released the top vote leaders for the 27 Triple-A All-Star Game last Thursday, and Indy was well-represented at every position with a player in the top four at each spot. Max Moroff (SS) and Christopher Bostick (OF) led their respective positions, while Elias Diaz (C), Jason Rogers (B), Joey Terdoslavich (DH) and Tyler Eppler (SP) were second in their respective categories. Erich Weiss (2B), Eric Wood (B), Austin Meadows (OF) and Edgar Santana (RP) came in fourth at their positions, and Steven Brault was sixth among starting pitchers. Dovydas Neverauskas (RP - No. 7), Pat Light (RP - No. ) and Eury Perez (OF - No. 9) also ranked among the top. INDIANS PROSPECTUS: Indianapolis currently has six of the top prospects in the Pirates organization, according to Baseball America. Outfielder Austin Meadows is the headliner as Pittsburgh's top prospect and No. in all of baseball. Steven Brault checks in at No. 7 in the Pirates system, followed by right-handers Nick Kingham (No. ), Tyler Eppler (No. ), Clay Holmes (No. 2) and Dovydas Neverauskas (No. 2). MATT BOYD: The Mud Hens will send southpaw Matt Boyd to the bump for the series opener tonight. The 2-year-old had spent his entire 27 campaign in Detroit's rotation, going 2- with a.9 ERA ( ER in. IP). Last year, Boyd went 2- with a 2.2 ERA ( ER in. IP) in starts for Toledo, and he posted a - record and. ERA (9 ER in 97. IP) in 2 games ( starts) with the Tigers. Boyd was acquired by Detroit from Toronto on July, 2, with left-handers Daniel Norris and Jairo Labourt in exchange for left-hander David Price. He was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the sixth round of the 2 MLB Amateur Draft out of Oregon State University. Boyd is - with a.9 ERA ( ER in. IP) in three career starts against Indianapolis. Boyd is a distant relative of Hall of Famer Bob Feller and former First Lady of the United States, Dolley Madison. BY THE NUMBERS 2 The Indians have faced Matthew Boyd three times in his career, with each outing coming in 2. The Indians defeated Boyd and the Mud Hens by two runs every time, -2, -2 and 2-. 27 AT A GLANCE Overall -2 Home 9- Road 2- Place st GA/GB +.
