After all planning and permitting has been reviewed and approved, the City must also take into account the following to assure good coordination : coordination Traffic rerouting Special events Parking restrictions Transit impacts Weather Available funding

PAVING CONDITION INDEX (PCI) SCORE 2013 : PCI SCORE : 66 goal 2012 : PCI SCORE : 65 2011 : PCI SCORE : 64 by 2021

Coordination shall occur when work is planned in the same block within a 5-year period. 2 or more City Agencies One agency shall perform the work. 2 or more Private Utilities One utility agency shall perform the work. coordination of street construction Private Utility and City Agency Permits shall be conditioned to maximize coordination and minimize construction period.

Benefits of coordinating work include: Shorter overall construction period Minimize parking loss Decrease noise, dust and vibration coordination of street construction Reduce traffic detours

Excavations shall not occur on streets that have been paved in the preceding 5 years. Exceptions Include : Repair leaks Respond to emergencies Provide services to new buildings Deployment of new technology TOTAL EXCEPTIONS IN 2013 : 292

Selection criteria : Identify conflicts and coordinate opportunities with utility companies and City Agencies Paving Condition Index below 85 paving methodology Functional class Transit and bicycle routes Paving of continuous blocks Equitable distribution across city

Projects are intended to address indentified needs by transit and others to maintain and improve transit service in the City.
