Folsom Shooting Club, Inc. Sacramento Valley Shooting Center Range 8 Cowboy Town Policy and Procedures In order to promote the safest environment possible for the use and enjoyment of Range 8, the following policy and procedures have been adopted. The FSC/RSO/Match Director charged with the operation of Range 8, shall strictly follow the policy and procedures set herein and any deviation from said policy and procedures shall have prior approval of management. Members and guests of Range 8, during times when the FSC/RSO/Match Director is not present shall strictly follow the policy and procedures set herein, when applicable. Use of Range 8 by Approved Voting Members 1. There are two categories of approved Voting members who may use Cowboy Town. 2. Approved Voting members in category 1, are authorized to use Cowboy Town s steel targets. 3. Approved Voting members in category 2 shall not use Cowboy Town s steel targets. Approved Voting Members Category 1 1. Shall be an active Voting member of FSC/SVSC. 2. Shall be an active member of either: The Gold Country Wild Bunch, The Outlaws, The California Rangers or The California Shady Ladies. (The Murieta Posse and The Sloughhouse Irregulars do not maintain memberships.) 3. Shall have received the approved Cowboy Town orientation. 4. Are authorized to use Cowboy Town s steel targets.

5. At all times while using Range 8, there must be at least two persons present. Shooters in another range DO NOT meet this requirement. Approved Voting Members Category 2 1. Shall be an active Voting Member of FSC/SVSC. 2. Shall have received the approved Cowboy Town orientation. 3. Are not authorized and shall not use Cowboy Town s steel targets. 4. Are subject to the ammunition requirements cited in these Policies and Procedures. 5. At all times while using Range 8, there must be at least two persons present. Shooters in another range DO NOT meet this requirement. Cowboy Town Orientation 1. The approved Cowboy Town orientation for voting members will be provided by appointment, by contacting the Cowboy Town Officer/Sheriff. 2. The Cowboy Town orientation shall consist of the material contained in the SASS RO1 instructions manual. Persons Authorized to Provide Cowboy Town Orientation 1. The Cowboy Town Safety Officer/Sheriff. 2. A SASS RO2 Instructor. Role of the Cowboy Town Sheriff (Safety Officer) 1. The Cowboy Town Sheriff (Safety Officer) is elected by the Presidents of the FSC/SVSC disciplines which have been approved by the board of Directors to use Cowboy Town. 2. The Cowboy Town Sheriff is responsible for the orientation and maintenance of Cowboy Town. 3. The Cowboy Town Sheriff serves as liaison between Cowboy Town disciplines and FSC/SVSC management and Board of Directors. Days Open Range 8 is voting member s competition range is open 7 days a week.

Hours Open 1. 8:00am 4:40pm. 2. Last shooter accepted at 4:00pm. Number of Guests The Number of guests shall be limited to four (4), in addition to immediate family members per membership. The member assumes responsibility for the conduct of his/her guests and their compliance with all FSC/SVSC rules. Fees for Members, Non-Members, Waivers and Wristbands 1. The fee for a Voting Member shall be $7.00 for the day. 2. The fee for a Non-Voting Member shall be $16.00 for the day. 3. Junior members shoot free. 4. The fee for a non-member shall be $16.00 for the day. 5. The fee for a junior non-member shall be $8.00. 6. The fee for an active duty military person shall be $8.00. 7. All persons using Range 8 and spectators shall sign the release waiver and pay the daily shooting fees at the FSC/SVSC range office prior to going to Range 8. 8. All non-shooters/spectators shall be issued a white band. Match Fees for Clubs, Waivers and Wristbands 1. The range fee for matches and practice sessions associated with a match shall be $5.00 per day for all participants. 2. During match and practice sessions associated with a match, it shall be the match Director s responsibility to collect all range fees and to make sure that all participants sign the release waivers. 3. After the match and practice sessions associated with a match, it shall be the match director s responsibility to return the match fees and signed release waivers to the FSC/SVSC range office. 4. Match or practice sessions participants associate with a match, are exempt from the wrist band rule. 5. Match or practice session participants associated with a match, may go directly to Range 8.

Reservation of Range 8 1. Range 8 may be reserved in advance by approved Voting members, via email at calendar@sacvalley.org. 2. Whenever Range 8 is in use, Range 7 becomes a 25 yard range, sharing the same firing line as Range 8. 3. Whenever Range 7 is being used with a firing line beyond 25 yards, Range 8 shall be closed. 4. Once Range 8 has been reserved by an approved Voting member, all other approved members may also use Range 8. Reservation Process 1. Check the calendar and ascertain the range, date and time slot desired is available. 2. If making the reservation as an approved Voting member for your own personal use, provide your name, member number and telephone number. 3. If making the reservation as an approved Cowboy Town club, provide your name, the club s name and telephone number. Reservations for club should be submitted at least six months in advance for the following calendar year. 4. Submit the request via e-mail to calendar@sacvalley.org Time Slots Time slots are as followed: 1. 8:00am 12:30pm and 12:30pm 4:40pm 2. Monday through Thursday members are permitted to reserve Range 8 for the full day. 3. Friday through Sunday members are permitted to reserve Range 8 for a half day only. Clean Up 1. The person, to whom the range(s) have been issued, shall be responsible for the collection and disposal of all trash generated each day. 2. Range(s) are to be left clear of all brass, targets, props, and other materials at the end of each day. If the range(s) are not clean or in unsatisfactory condition, the FSC/SVSC office must be notified prior to the start of the event, or responsibility is assumed for the condition of the range(s). 3. During the check-out process, the range(s) use will be inspected by FSC/SVSC staff.

4. A $150.00 range restoration fee shall be charged if in FSC/SVSC sole opinion, the responsible party has failed to remove all debris, targets, target stands, hulls, ammunition cases, supplies and/or other materials from the range(s) rented. 5. It is the sole responsibility of the responsible person, agency, business or non-profit organization to whom the range(s) have been rented to assure the range(s) are returned to their original cleanliness. 6. Failure to remit payment in a timely fashion may result in loss of access to the range facilities until full payment for all outstanding fees have been received by FSC/SVSC. Unruly and/or Un-Sportsman like Behavior 1. Unruly and/or Un-Sportsman like behavior shall not be tolerated anywhere in the facility. 2. Unruly and/or Un-Sportsman like behavior shall be reported to the Operations Manager and/or Assistant Operations Manager. 3. Unruly and/or Un-Sportsman like behavior shall be cause for removal from the facility. 4. Unruly and/or Un-Sportsman like behavior includes but is not limited to: A. The use and/or threats of violence towards anyone. B. The use of offensive language. C. The use of loud and/or boisterous language and/or behavior. D. Failure to obey the commands/instructions from the Range Safety Officer. E. Violation of any of these policies and procedures. F. Unsafe firearm handling. G. Being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. H. Whenever in the opinion of any FSC/SVSC range staff, the safety of any other person is being compromised. Ammunition Requirements 1. SVSC maintains that all ammunition must be serviceable and safe. No tracer or incendiary ammunition is permitted. In addition,.416 Barrett and 50 BMG/ Euro are banned facility wide. 2. *Ammunition with LEAD ONLY bullets may be used in cowboy town. Molly coated lead bullets are permitted. 3. Maximum velocity for handguns shall be 1,000 FPS. 4. Maximum velocity for rifles shall be 1,400 FPS. 5. Shotgun ammunitions shall be the type commonly used for trap and skeet. No high base or magnum shells are permitted. Shot sized shall not be larger than #6. 6. Black powder and substitutes are permitted.

7. 22LR is permitted. *22 cal. Jacketed ammo is permitted. Shotgun Requirements 1..410 Shotguns are permitted. 2. Shotguns larger than 10 Gauge are not permitted. Range 8 Restrictions 1. Only steel targets are permitted in Cowboy Town. Paper targets are not permitted. 2. Water bottles, soda cans and charcoal are permitted for use with the shotgun popper targets. 3. Approved members may use their own steel targets, provided they are approved by the Cowboy Town Sheriff (Safety Officer) and/or FSC/SVSC Operations Management. Special Events 1. Special events may be held at Cowboy Town with the prior approval of the FSC/SVSC Operations Management and the Cowboy Town Sheriff. 2. The aforementioned Policies and Procedures governing the use of Range 8 Cowboy Town, may be modified where applicable, to facilitate the nature of the special event.
