Rules and Regulations ENTRIES: Entries close January 23, 2015. Entries received after January 23 may be charged a late fee of $10.00 Post entries will be accepted until the start of the class. Riders who show in a class in which they are not entered will be charged a $5.00 gate fee. All horses entered must be named on entry blank, including horses shown only in equitation classes. Entries will ONLY be accepted when signed by the owner, rider or handler, AND trainer. Entries must be accompanied by a check for stabling fees. Post entries will be accepted as noted above. Numbers will not be issued without proof of negative Coggins test. No stall will be reserved unless stall fees are paid by the closing of entries. Please give complete name, address, telephone number, and tax payer ID number for owner, rider, and trainer. A $30 Office/Administration fee will be charged for every horse on the show grounds to cover schooling, adds, and scratches. Tack stalls can be divided if notification is given in Show Office no later than Saturday Noon. A $10 Medic fee will be charged on each entry. All non-showing horses will be charged a stall fee, office fee, a $25.00 non-showing fee and MUST submit a signed entry blank and negative coggins test, the same as a showing horse. A processing fee of $40 plus collection fees will be charged for all non-negotiable checks. Mail entries to: Marlene Miller 2608 S. Walnut Ave. Broken Arrow, OK 74012 REFUNDS: NO STALL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED after the closing date of February 20 without a vet certificate of illness. Entry fees will not be refunded unless a certificate of illness or injury prepared by an accredited veterinarian is presented to the show office before the start of the show. Once the show has started horses which are not shown in classes which they have entered will forfeit their entry fees, except if a horse is injured or becomes ill prior to the class(s) entered - certificate of illness from official horse show veterinarian required. PROPER NOTIFICATION OF SCRATCHES must be made in the show office BEFORE the start of the class or classes being scratched. 3
STALLS: 10 x 10 permanent stalls with doors are available at $100 for entries received on or before January 31. Stalls will be available January 30 (Friday). Bedding, feed, and hay are available for purchase on the grounds and may be pre-ordered by calling 405-948-6786. Manure must be disposed of in designated areas only, no manure in trash bins. No stall doors or panels are to be removed. A $50 Per DAY Grounds Fee will be charged for horses trailering in and showing daily. FOR STALL RESERVATIONS, please contact MARGARET THURSTON at 405-641-0167 (call or text). CAMPERS: Camper spaces with full hook-up, including sewer, are available. ATTIRE: It is compulsory for ALL riders in all Hunter, Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation classes, where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the competition grounds, to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. It is in the tradition of the competition ring that riders be correctly attired for the class in question. Formal attire is required, unless Management permits Hunter or Hunter Seat Equitation riders to ride without jackets. Must have headgear on and fastened while mounted anywhere on grounds. RIBBONS/TROPHIES/CHAMPIONSHIPS: All classes will receive a trophy and ribbons through sixth place. Each Hunter section will receive a Champion and Reserve award on points earned. Full championship points will be given in all classes in each hunter section. In all hunter sections, Champion and Reserve will be awarded to two of the top four horses acquiring the most points over fences. In hunter classes these four horses will also receive points for under saddle class. A Championship will not count for points unless a minimum of three entries show and compete in at least one over fences classes and one under saddle class JUMPERS: Ties in Jumper classes will jump off for first place only. Ties for all other places will be determined by fastest time in first round among those with an equal number of faults. JUMP ORDER/RING CONFLICTS: It is the exhibitor s responsibility to follow posted jump orders and/or check in when necessary. Management will designate priority rings on a daily basis. Paddock masters have the authority to scratch exhibitors not in compliance with this policy. Add/Scratch slips must be presented to the paddock master prior to the start of the class. 4
FOOTING/ARENA DIMENSIONS: Ring 1, Barn 6 (climate controlled) is 120 x250 associated warm up is 90 x180 Ring 2, Super Barn is 120 x200, associated warm up is 90 x180. Footing in all arenas is dirt sand mix. SCHOOLING: Hunter Rings will be open for schooling on the day prior to the show (approximately 1:00 PM). Rings may also be open before and after the show, each day, (TIME PERMITTING). Times will be posted or announced. Jumping will be permitted only when medical personnel are on the grounds. POLING: Manual poling and use of bamboo offsets are prohibited at all times on the show grounds. In the event of a violation of this regulation, the involved horse, owner, rider, and trainer of record may be suspended from further competition at the show where the violation occurred. MOTORIZED VEHICLE STATEMENT Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/ or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. PETS: Pursuant to USEF rules: Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on leash or otherwise constrained. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to monetary fines. CHANGES: Management reserves the right to make changes to its list of officials and/or to cancel, combine, add, delay, and reschedule classes in the best interest of the Event. 5
RESPONSIBILITY: Submission of entry to this show constitutes an agreement to the following: Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Oklahoma City Fair Park and GO March Hunter Jumper Horse Show officials against any claims, demands, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees for the defense thereof, arising from the conduct or management of Exhibitor s business or its use of the premises or from any breach on the part of Exhibitor of any conditions of this Agreement, or contractors, agents, employees, guests, or invitees in or about the premises. In case of any action or proceeding brought against Oklahoma City Fair Park and Go Show Management by reason of any such claim. Exhibitor, upon notice, covenants to defend such action or proceeding by council acceptable to owner. Exhibitor is responsible for his/her own property and Oklahoma City Fair Park and GO Show Management are not responsible for accidents, fire, or theft. HJ104 Support and/or Stabling Facilities: Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. All Hunter courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field. A dotted line may be used. Classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted in the prize list. Championships and Reserve Championships will be awarded in all Hunter Divisions. Points awarded as follows: 1st-10, 2nd-6, 3rd-4, 4th- 2, 5th-1, 6th-1/2. Entering The GO February Horse Show Online Instructions 1. Go to www.horseshowsonline.com. 2. If you do not have an account with Horseshows Online, near the top of the page click on Member Services. Otherwise, log in to your account and go to step # 9. 3. Near the lower left hand side of the page, click on Click here to create a new account. 4. Click Next. Fill out the information requested. Click on the I agree to the terms of service box. Click Next. 6. Choose a login ID and password. Type the code as shown and click Next. 7. You now have an account. Click the link Click here to go to member login page. 8. Log in to your account. 9. Click the tab that says My People, Horses, Shows. 10. Add as many people and horses as you need to in order to enter. This includes all horses that you intend to show, their owners, riders and trainers. These will stay on your account, so you only need to create them once - after that you will have them stored for future shows. 11. Once you have all your people and horses created, click the tab that says My Show Entries. 12. Click the button that says Enter a Show - Create New Online Entry. 13. Select the show you would like to enter. You are now through with the difficult part of using this system. All you need to do is follow the instructions and choose the horse, owner, trainer and rider for each entry. The next screen will allow you to choose your classes. The screen after that will display your fees. A stall will be included in your fees. That can be edited at the show if you you need to change it. When you are through with the fees screen, the next screen will allow you to review your entry information and check to be sure it is correct. When you are sure that it is, click the next button to submit it to the show. The next screen will allow you to print a copy of the entry for your records. If you make a mistake and need to change anything, we can do that at the show or you can email me and I will fix it on my end. Proceed west on I-40 until you reach May Ave. Exit I-40 and go north on May Ave. to the Oklahoma State Fair Park. Turn left into the fair grounds and proceed west and go to the left of the Coliseum and you will find Barn 6 on the left side of the street with the Coliseum to your right. From Northbound I-35: Take southbound I-35 to I-40 West. Proceed west on I-40 until you reach May Ave. Exit I-40 and go north on May Ave. to the Oklahoma State Fair Park. Turn left into the fair grounds and proceed west and go to the left of the Coliseum and you will find Barn 6 on the left side of the street with the Coliseum to your right. From Westbound I-44: Proceed west on I-44 until you reach I-35. Take southbound I-35 to I-40 West. Proceed west on I-40 until you reach May Ave. Exit I-40 and go north on May Ave. to the Oklahoma State Fair Park. Turn left into the fair grounds at Gate 5 and proceed west and go to the left of the Coliseum and you will find Barn 6 on the left side of the street with the Coliseum to your right. FIRE MARSHALL S STATEMENT - LIVESTOCK 1. There shall be NO plastic or vinyl material in the buildings, coverings for stalls, or used for temporary security of retail storefronts. 2. Only stalls for tack storage, entertainment, or sleeping can be covered on the top, and will require a smoke detector. 3. The stalls can only be covered in a red rosin construction grade paper or (butcher block paper) cheesecloth, either regular or restaurant type grade. Wood trapping-3 max. On center to attach paper is allowed. 4. Sleeping areas are to be equipped with a smoke detector and fire Extinguisher. 5. Any aisle space between stalls can be covered only if equal open space to material not to exceed 4 (foot) ie. If your material is max. 4 (foot) then the space between material shall be min. 4 (foot). 6. No two (2) continuous stalls shall be covered at any time. 7. Combustible storefront elevations shall be treated in ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 701 to make them flame retardant and a certificate or similar proof is supplied to the Oklahoma City Fire Marshals Office prior to its placing. Material that is being treated by user must be done in the presence of an Inspector from the City of Oklahoma City Fire Marshals Office. 8. Awnings shall not exceed out from stalls any further than 4 (foot). 9. No portable heaters of any type are allowed in the Oklahoma City Fairground livestock facilities. 10. NO tents or canopies are allowed inside the barns, arena, or livestock area. This is to include but not limited to EZ-UP pop up tents. 11. NO SMOKING will be permitted in Arena or Livestock area (BARNS). 12. NO hay, straw, shavings, or similar combustible materials used for decorations are permitted within any facility unless they have been treated in ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 701 to make them flame retardant and a certificate or similar proof is supplied to the Oklahoma City Fire Marshals Office prior to its placing. (Hay or straw for animals is permissible and can be kept in stall areas for feeding and or bedding) 13.
