Dear Sponsor, The 4 th Annual Texas City Firefighter Games on 6 th Street is an exciting opportunity for your business to be involved in one of the City s premier and largest participating sporting events. Last year s event raised over $16,531 for United Way and we are ready to make 2018 another successful year. The 2018 Firefighter Games on 6 th Street will provide sponsors a unique potential to engage with and contribute to what is fast becoming one of the most exciting fundraising events in our area, involving hundreds of firefighters and spectators from around the County and greater South Houston area. The event will be held on 6 th Street, Texas City s revitalized and historic area. The 2018 games will kick off on Friday evening at 6 p.m., and will include a fire truck show with antique fire apparatus from around the greater Houston area and a free concert in front of the Showboat Theater. Along with the entertainment, Friday night events also include a horseshoe competition and bucket brigade competition that are both open to public participation. Saturday s events kick off with a Certified 5k Fun Run and a Fire Truck Parade followed by a Pumper Race and Waterball competition, pitting the area fire departments best firefighting teams against each other, as well as a BBQ competition. This year s BBQ competition events include a Jackpot Friday Evening of Fajitas and Chicken wings, and a Texas Triple Header of Ribs, Chicken, and Brisket on Saturday. The Texas City Firefighter Games will provide exposure to hundreds of event participants, families, supporters, the industry and spectators. The Games are much more than just a sporting event. Fire Fighters are used to working in teams with a wide range of skills and the games are all about putting those skills on display, having fun, learning about the fire service, and, of course, bragging rights.
