CONDITIONS OF ENTRY THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL. 1. This Show is run in accordance with the 2018 Rules of the British Show Horse Association. 2. No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for any loss, damage, illness or injury sustained by the Exhibitors, Riders or their Horses or any other person connected. Entries are accepted on this basis. 3. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel any class if there are insufficient entries, or to amend conditions of any class at their discretion. 4. While every effort will be made to avoid classes clashing, the Show cannot be held responsible if due to large entries classes overrun. 5. Novice classes are open to registered Hacks, Cobs, Maxi Cobs and Riding Horses which have not won a first prize of 35 or more or a total of 250 in any showing classes affiliated to the BSHA, at home or abroad, prior to 1 st January in the current year. Winnings gained as a 4 year old are exempt unless the animal has won an Open Ridden class with a first prize of 35 or more. A Novice may be shown in a snaffle bridle. 6. Amateur Owner/Rider classes are open to registered Hacks, Cobs, Maxi Cobs and Riding Horses as defined in the BSHA Rule Book 2018. 7. Non-Members may compete in Classes 1-5, 20-23 & 25-27. 8. Hard hats must be worn at all times whilst riding and leading horses on the showground. 9. DOGS are allowed on the Showground but MUST be kept on a lead. Any dog fouling must be cleaned up. 10. MUCKING OUT OF HORSESBOXES IS PROHIBITED ON THE SHOWGROUND. 11. Three entries or less forward = 1 st Prize only Four of Five Entries forward = 1 st & 2 nd Prize money Six or more Entries forward = 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd Prize money Rosettes: to 6 th place in all classes Royal International Horse Show Qualifying Classes SHB(GB) Classes All Hunter and Sport Horse Classes will be judged under SHB(GB) 2018 Rules. Classes 22-23 & 27 are qualifying events for this year s Royal International Horse Show and only horses registered on the 2018 Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers MUST be quoted on Entry Forms, and Owners and Riders must be Members of the Society. The two highest placed horses in open classes 2-5 will qualify to enter at the RIHS. No horse lower than 2 nd will qualify. The three highest placed horses in class 27 will qualify. No horse placed lower than 3 rd will qualify. Owners & Riders need to be current members of SHB(GB) for all SHB(GB) Classes. Day Ticket = 35 (this entitles competitors to compete at a maximum of 2 show s in the year it covers owner and rider membership together with horse registration for that show). If the class is a qualifying class for RIHS, in order for the qualification to be valid, application for full owner/rider membership and horse registration must be received in the SHB(GB) office within 14 days. Classes 22 & 23: The two highest placed smalls and the two highest placed Lightweights will qualify in class 22 and in class 23, the two highest placed Middleweights and the two highest placed Heavyweights will qualify. It is strongly recommended that competitors aged 15 17 wear Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats that meet one of the following current safety standards: All PAS 015: VG1: ASTM F1163 04a onwards: SNELL E2001: AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards. It is mandatory for competitors under the age of 18 to wear such skull caps or hats. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover. Sport Horse Breeding GB (NW) Points Competition WORKING HUNTER & RIDDEN HUNTER classes are included in the S.H.B (GB) in the North West Ridden Points Competition. Points will be awarded to 1 st - 4 th places in each class. Horses can compete in any of the above classes. An award will be made to the horse attaining the highest number of points overall. To qualify horses that are not registered at the time of the show must be registered or overstamped with SHB (GB) by 30 th September 2018.
Royal International Horse Show Qualifying Classes BSHA Classes Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Classes 6-12 are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified, the second will qualify. If the first and second are already qualified, then the third will go forward. The three highest prize winners in each Open affiliated class will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the BSHA National Championship Show in September. The BSHA offer a Novice, Amateur and Young Rider Rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse & HOYS Hunter classes). The Association will also award an Amateur Home Produced rosette in all Affiliated Open Cob (Light & Heavyweights only) classes. These rosettes have been kindly sponsored by TSG, Mr L Turley. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year. Classes 13-15 & 17-19 require a BSHA Day Ticket. Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per exhibitor, per horse per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Novice, Amateur, Young Rider, Home Produced, Working, In-Hand and Open affiliated classes only but will not allow entry into RIHS or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form, or apply online on the BSHA website. Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain competitions at their affiliated shows cannot compete in Hack & Riding Horse classes at the same show on the same day. This does not apply to SHB (GB) and Ridden Sport Horse classes and Working Hunters. The affiliated Open Working Show Horse class 24, is a qualifier for the SEIB Working Show Horse of the Year Championship, to be held at the BSHA National Championship Show. The two highest placed horses, in the top five, not already qualified in each Open Working Show Horse class, will qualify for the Championships; no Horse placed lower than fifth will qualify. Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class. A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed. When jumping in the Ring, the practice or collecting area, all Riders must wear protective headgear, according to the current approved BSI or European Standard. Skullcaps must be worn with a dark coloured plain peaked cover. Horses may wear protective boots, of a plain colour, for the jumping phase only; no weighted boots are permitted; no change of tack is permitted between jumping and flat phases. The Society cannot be held responsible for any dispute arising from the non-compliance of Shows with any of the above regulations.
Royal International Horse Show Qualifier Classes BSPA Classes Classes 20 & 21 are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead Tuesday 24 th July 2018. Classes will be judged under BSPA rules. Download from www.bspaonline.com all horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and riders BSPA members prior to the show. Riders age taken from 1 st January. Membership and qualification cards must be carried in the ring by competitors and produced as required for inspection and signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. Spurs may not be worn in any pony class. Ponies 153cm or under (shetlands exempt) must possess a current JMB height certificate. Competitors qualifying at this show for The Royal International Horse Show 24 th -29 th July 2018 must submit their entries by recorded delivery post with full payment within 48hours of qualifying to The Show Secretary, All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, West Sussex RH17 5NU. Qualification: 1 st place and the next unqualified competitor standing 2 nd or 3 rd qualify from each class. No competitor may qualify from lower than 3 rd place.
