We are now looking to reschedule the Open Race for another weekend date to be determined and notified out later this week coming. We realise that this may cause some inconvenience and we are sorry for having to take this step, as we are all aware we do have to encounter these problems in skiing on snow. The Cairngorm Ski Club Hilton Coylumbridge Open forms part of the Scottish Alpine Series Due to deteriorating weather conditions at Cairngorm Mountain, the decision has been made to cancel the Bairns races on Saturday 20 th. The decision on whether or not the BASS races will run will be taken on Friday afternoon/evening. Both the BASS and Bairns races for this weekend are postponed alternative dates to be confirmed.

Note that Bib Collection takes place in the Funicular Base Station Ground Floor Exit area The Shieling Building area will available to all Racersfor Lunch. This is just next to the Shieling Race Office. The Race Timing Office is located at the Shieling, which is the building complex at the mid-station stop for the Funicular. The Race Office looks out onto the White Lady Piste. Start Lists these will be posted in the Bib Collection area of the Registration Office (White and also at the Shieling Race Office. Course Inspection this will be held on each day from 9.10-9.40 on both the White Lady and the Fiacaill Ridge for their respective races; the inspection will be from the top of the course down. Competitors must wear their Bibs with numbers clearly visible. Competitors are not allowed to ski the course or gates during this inspection. Uplift Tickets are not included in the race entry fee. All Competitors must provide their own uplift tickets. First Aid to be provided by Cairngorm Ski Patrol Helmets are compulsory for all Ski Race Events - as per FIS rules, all helmets must meet at least EN 1077 Class A and/or ASTM 2040, or higher standards (SNELL 98 or new FIS Standard), can be used. As per new Equipment rule 6.2.4: The helmets shall be used without alteration/modification, as certified by the manufacturer. Furthermore, no additional element/equipment shall be affixed on the surface of the helmet.
Unsportsmanlike Behaviour: In the event of unsporting behaviour, all race officials have been reminded that sanctions may be applied if rules are contravened. Please be aware that this could ultimately lead to the sanction of Suspension from events (ICR 223.32). Disqualifications & Protest: Disqualifications will be posted on the official noticeboard following the Jury meeting after each race run. Racers will have 15 minutes from the time of posting to protest against any disqualification. Each protest should be made to the referee in writing, and accompanied by a 25 deposit, which will be kept in the event of the protest not being upheld by the Jury. Catering : Hot drinks and food will be available for purchase from the Day Lodge at the Coire Cas Car Park Area and in the Ptarmigan Restaurant at the top station of the Funicular. Packed lunches can be eaten in the Shieling Ski Club Area next to the Race Office. Toilet facilities are located at the Funicular Base/Top Station & also at the Sheiling. Prize giving: There will be a Prize Giving Ceremony on Saturday & Sunday respectively, to be held in the Woodshed at Coylumbridge Hotel starting approximately from 4pm. Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd racers in both male and female categories for each age group. All prize winners are requested to show courtesy by attending the prize giving. Officials: These events cannot run without sufficient volunteers to help both on and off the mountain. If you are able to assist in any way, please provide details on entry form, or contact Jules Jennings for further details. BASS Entry fee for the weekend is 40 for Saturday & Sunday or 25.00 for Single Entry Day. Bairns Entry is 25.00 Saturday & Sunday or 15.00 for Single Race Day. Entries should be submitted using the online entry form. To enable acceptance bulletin publication, the closing date for race entries will be Monday 15 th February 5pm. This is a BASS seeded race therefore all competitors from U14 and above must be registered as a competitor with their Home Nation Governing Body (i.e. Snowsport Scotland, Snowsport England/Wales) AND they must be a member of an affiliated club to ensure they have appropriate insurance cover. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED INTO THE DRAW WITHOUT CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION NUMBER, CLUB & AND ENTRY FEES PAID. Bairns Racers are not required to be Registered Racers. Cancellation: No refunds will be given if a competitor withdraws from the event AFTER the Start List has been published. In the event of the races being cancelled due to unfavourable conditions, an alternative race weekend of 27 th & 28 th February 2016 has been provisionally determined. If though this is not possible we will endeavour to provide full refunds.
