Notice of Race Myanmar Wave Rider Cup & KTA Race Open The Myanmar Yachting Federation in co-operation with the Ngwe Saung Yacht Club & Resort and KTA are pleased to invite Standup Paddlers, Windsurf and Kiteboard sailors to take part in the Myanmar Wave Rider Cup during 28 th ~ 31 st October 2015 at Ngwe Saung Yacht Club & Resort, Myanmar. 1. RULES 1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing -Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR). 1.2 Kiteboarding Racing Rules of Sailing 2013~2016. 1.3 The Class Rules of the participating classes. 1.4 No national prescriptions will apply. 1.5 If there is conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions (SI s), the SI will take precedence. 1.6 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 2. ADVERTISING 2.1 Sailors may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. ISAF Regulation 20 Advertising Code shall apply. 2.2 Event branding shall be worn at all times when afloat, and as requested by the Organizers during media interviews and during prize giving. 3. CLASSES Windsurfing 3.1 Techno 293-Boy and Girl Youth (must be born in or after 1998). 3.2 R300-Competitors are to choose either the RS:One (Neil Pryde) or the Phantom 295 ( Starboard ). Either brand is eligible to compete as long as all equipment remains uniform to their respective manufacturers. Page 1 of 11

Kiteboarding 3.3 All boards and kites will be permitted within their respective classes. 3.4 The KTA Race Open will run both Formula and TT race classes with the further option of a Freestyle Expression session if conditions allow. Standup Paddle (SUP) 3.5 All SUP boards and paddles will be permitted. 4. DIVISIONS Windsurfing 4.1 Gender Divisions: Men and Woman, Boy and Girl. 4.2 Age Divisions 4.2.1 Youth shall be under the age 18in the year of competition (born in or after 1998). 4.2.2 Espoir shall be under the age of 29 in the year of competition (born in or after 1994). 4.2.3 Open - competitors over the age of 30. 4.3 A minimum of 4 competitors is required to constitute a division. Kiteboarding 4.4 The kiteboard classes will compete in open male and female divisions with no age limitations. 4.5 A minimum of 5 competitors are required to constitute a division. 5. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 6. FEES 5.1 All entries shall meet the requirements of ISAF Regulation 19 - Eligibility Code. 5.2 Eligible competitors may use credit card, bank transfer or cash payment as required. 5.3 The following shall be presented upon registration: Entry Form Shall complete and sign an event waiver form Emergency Contact and Health Information Form 5.4 Parents or guardians accompanying the youth competitors will have to notify the Organizing Committee of their attendance by emailing sailingteam.myf@gmail.com. RACE FORMATS 7.1 Windsurfing 7.1.1 The Championship shall be a single-discipline, course & slalom racing format. 7.1.2 Men, Women and Youth may race together. 7.1.3 Classes may have the same starts. 7.1.4 Windsurf Competitors shall race a maximum 4 races per day, in a maximum 10 race series. 7.1.5 Three races are required to validate the Race Series. 7.2 Kiteboarding 7.2.1 The KTA Race Open will compete in: Open Formula class TT class Freestyle Expression 7.2.2 Course or slalom racing will take place depending on prevailing daily conditions. If mixed courses are used during the regatta race scores will be combined to decide the overall event winners. 7.2.3 Male and female racers may compete together on the same course, but shall be scored separately. 7.2.4 The KTA Competition Directors decision on course selection shall be final. 7.2.5 There shall be a maximum of 6 races per day for each class. 7.2.6 Three races are required overall for a valid race series. 7.2.7 The Freestyle Expression shall take place on a drop-in basis if conditions allow during the regatta. 7.2.8 Both hooked and unhooked tricks shall be judged on an overall impression basis and riders will compete in either a knock out or group format, depending on competitor numbers. 7.2.9 Freestyle Expression will be run on a winner takes all basis, with prizes being awarded to the top male and female riders. 7.2.10 If the Freestyle Expression is not run during the regatta the prizes shall be placed into a riders raffle at the closing party. 7.3 Standup Paddle 8. EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION Windsurfing 9.1 Equipment from the same brands must be used for all Windsurfing Classes. 9.2 Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event. 9.3 Unless otherwise directed by the Organizing Authority, boards and equipment shall be launched and retired from the designated area at the event site. Kiteboarding 9.4 Kiteboard classes are unrestricted and shall not require inspection. 9.5 All competitors are responsible for ensuring they are competing with a fully functioning safety system. Standup Paddle 9.6 SUP boards are unrestricted and shall not require inspection. 9.7 All competitors are responsible for ensuring they are competing with life jackets and foot leash. 10. IDENTIFICATION 10.1 Every competitor is required to wear the official event lycra with his personal identification number whenever competing. Page 7 of 11

11. BUOYANCY 11.1 If the use of personal flotation devices is prescribed, every competitor and support boat crew member shall wear, above the waist, a jacket harness or vest with a minimum buoyancy of 4kg un-inflated in fresh water. The buoyancy shall be tested with a ferrous metal weight of 4kg, which shall remain supported for a minimum of 5 minutes. 12. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 12.1 The event SIs' will be available at first skippers meeting, the Event Programme scheduling social events will be published on the official notice board. 12.2 Alterations to the SIs shall be approved by the Competition Director. 13. COURSES 13.1 Courses will be as described in the Sailing Instructions. 14. PROTEST COMMITTEE Windsurfing 14.1 A Protest Committee chaired by the Race Director will be appointed. Kiteboarding & Standup Paddle 14.2 No protest committee shall be appointed. 14.3 Arbitration may be used if required at the Competition Director's discretion. 15. SCORING 15.1 Scoring will be accordingly to the WCR and Kiteboard Racing Rules Appendix A, and using the Low Point Scoring System. 16. COACHES &SPECTATOR BOATS Coaches and spectator boats can be chartered with the Organizer. Chartering fees will apply. 17. PRIZES Medals or trophies will be awarded to the first three competitors in each Class/Division depending on entry numbers. Categories to be awarded in each properly constituted division may be posted on the official notice board after the close of registration. Page 8 of 11

There will be a Kiteboard Competition prize and merchandise package worth up to 15,000 USD. For Windsurf and SUP, cash prizes and merchandise may be given depending on the Sponsors for the event. 18. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES Competitors are required to attend the events social functions and requested to bring a Halloween costume for the closing ceremony. 19. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 19.1 Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. The LOA, IKA, ISAF, MYF KTA or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons orequipment, which may result. 19.2 Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. Notice is drawn to RRS 4. 20. INSURANCE 20.1 It is the personal responsibility of the competitor to hold a valid third party insurance with a minimum Third party liability insurance. For kiteboarders this is available online through the IKA website : http://www.internationalkiteboarding.org/insurance 21. RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKNESS In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Event as defined in the Notices of Race and Sailing Instruction in which he/she participates without compensation. 22. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SHEET The following information is not part of the rules for the Event. A. Accommodation Reservations at Ngwe Saung Yacht Club & Resort (NSYC) It is highly recommended that competitors and participates stay at NSYC as the entry fees include local transport and meals. The host venue has significantly decreased its room rates to accommodate to meet the budget of participates. In the Entry Form attached, please tick the room preference and accommodation can be paid during check out. Payment and reservation can also be made via NSYC website, www.ngwesaungyachtclub.comto secure reservation. Check - in and Check - out Time The resort's guaranteed check-in time is 2:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12 noon. Request for early check in will be handled based on room availability at that day. The resort can accommodate guest's luggage complimentary in a secure location until the guest room is ready. Air Travel / Transportation / Transfers The entry fee includes round triptransport from Yangon International Airport to NSYC. C. Equipment Charter - Charter Prices are the following : RS: One - 200 USD Phantom 295-200 USD Techno 293-250 USD - Sails, Harness Jackets, Downhaul System & Harness Lines will not be provided. - Damage Deposit - 400 USD ( pay at registration desk ) - Priority given on first come first serve basis - A limited number of RS: One, Phantom 295 and Techno 293 equipment may be available for charter from the Myanmar Yachting Federation.. - Please see Entry Form and indicate which type of equipment to charter. - There are only a limited number of charter equipment available which will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Priority will be given to those that pay first. - No Kiteboard equipment are available to charter - The Organizers will provide Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boards and paddles for the SUP Challenge.
