LHP Tyler Alexander (1-2, 4.6) Road Game #15 RHP Lars Huijer (0-1, 4.42) Friday, May 2, 2014 6:35 PM CT Fox Cities Stadium Game #26 Road Game #15 - Radio Broadcast: WCCI 100.3 FM Day Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday Date May 3 May 4 May 5 May 6 Opponent Wisconsin Wisconsin Burlington Burlington Time 1:05 1:05 6:30 11:30 LumberKings Pitcher RH Edwin Diaz (1-1, 2.78) TBD Eddie Campbell (1-1, 3.74) TBD Opposing Pitcher RH Barrett Astin (3-2, 3.62) TBD TBD TBD Tonight s Tilt. The LumberKings and Timber Rattlers meet for the first time in 2014, as they open a three game series at Fox Cities Stadium. The LumberKings look to move their winning streak to three after they swept a doubleheader on Thursday @ Quad Cities. Lars Huijer is set to make his third start of the season as he aims to bounce back from a shaky outing last time out. Lefty Tyler Alexander is on the hill for the Timber Rattlers. Similar to Huijer, Alexander has split time between the pen and the rotation here in 2014. The BURT movement.despite beginning the season on the 7-day disabled list, Burt Reynolds has been on fire in the past two weeks. The cousin of Mariners 2B Robinson Cano is second on the team with three home runs and has homered in each of his last three starts. Reynolds three-run blast in the seventh inning of Thursday s nightcap proved to be the game winner. Musical Chairs. The demotion of OF Arby Fields to extended spring training last week kicked off a flurry of LumberKings roster moves. Pitcher Mark Bordonaro was recently promoted to High Desert (Advanced-A) and RHP Thyago Vieira replaced him on the roster. Tuesday, RHP Ramire Cleto was demoted back to extended and RHP Aaron Brooks was called up as his replacement. Thursday, left-handed starting pitcher Jake Zokan earned a promotion to High Desert, with RHP Jose Flores being his replacement from extended spring training. Eddie Campbell and Tommy Burns, who were the starters in both games of Wednesday s doubleheader were placed on the Extended Spring Training roster and replaced by Paul Fry and Rigoberto Garcia. April Review. It was an up-and-down April for Clinton. Cold, rainy weather caused five rainouts, three of which resulted in doubleheaders, including tonight s doubleheader at Quad Cities. The L Kings opened the 2014 season with a four-game set in Cedar Rapids and split those contests. Clinton returned home where they won three of five, two over Lake County and one over Fort Wayne. Following that home stand, Clinton hit the road for six games against MWL Eastern Division teams. They were swept by the current MWL Eastern leading Dayton Dragons in three games, but returned the favor against the Bowling Green Hot Rods, earning their first 2014 sweep. The L Kings returned home for six games against Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids and did not fare well. They went 1-5 and were swept by the Kernels. After consecutive rainouts in Quad Cities, Clinton wrapped up April with a doubleheader split against the River Bandits on April 30. Marcus Littlewood raked to the tune of a.37 batting average, the highest mark in the MWL through one month. They Returned.Five players who donned a LumberKings uniform at some point in 2013 are back with the team. They include catcher Marcus Littlewood, infielders Martin Peguero and Zach Shank, and pitchers Blake Holovach and Mark Bordonaro. Littlewood, Holovach, and Bordonaro spent their entire 2013 campaigns in Clinton. Bordonaro was promoted to High Desert (Advanced-A) at the end of April. Midwest League Debut.25 LumberKings have made their Midwest League debut, the most recent being pitchers Jose Flores and Paul Fry who combined to allow only one run in a 3-1 LumberKings victory on Thursday night. Flores allowed one run in four innings, while Fry pitched three shutout frames to pick up his first win of 2014. Mariners Watch. The Seattle Mariners knocked off the New York Yankees 4-2 at Yankee Stadium Thursday night, the third consecutive victory for the parent club of the LumberKings. Robinson Cano ignored the boos in his second game in NY since signing with the M s as he drove in a pair of runs. Roenis Elias struck out 10 in seven strong innings and gave Seattle its fifth win in six games following an eight game skid. Seattle has won four straight at Yankee stadium dating back to 2013.
