Please join us for some fun all are welcome No Walk-Up Entries the Day of the Event Although our numbers exceeded 500 competitors last year we will continue to run this as a 1 day event. We do this in order to save the judo community money and to help children miss as little school days as possible. Eligibility Juniors - Must have current USA Judo, USJF, USJA, ATJA or AJJF foreign national membership card. A copy of proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and copy of membership card must be sent with the application or shown at the time of registration. Seniors and Masters Must have current USA Judo, USJF, USJA or foreign national membership card. A copy must be sent with the application or shown at the time of registration. Points You must be a member of USA Judo and be a US Citizen by the conclusion of the event in order to receive points for this event. Exhibition divisions will be provided throughout the day. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT applies to all Regular Bantam, Intermediate and Juvenile athletes who are in the last year of eligibility in their current age bracket. It does not apply to novice junior categories. It applies to ALL Junior point events (except novice junior categories) that are held from July 1 to December 31 of each year: Any Junior athlete, who is in the last year of eligibility to compete in his/her current age bracket, may CHOOSE to enter USA Judo point events in the next age bracket. The athlete will need to choose ONE age bracket for each point event in the second half of each applicable year.
Rules The athlete who chooses to compete in the higher age bracket may begin to accumulate points at the new age beginning July 1 of each year, BUT he/she will not be able to use those points until January 1 of the year that actually ages them into the new division. The athlete will NOT be able to compete in his/her old age bracket and the new one at the same event. This is a Modified Double Elimination tournament. Golden Score (two minutes) will be used for masters matches. The winner will not have any losses. Losers will fight in a loser pool to determine an eventual silver and bronze medalist. There will only be one bronze medalist. Current IJF rules will be used with the following modifications: 1. IJF and Juvenile B (Cadet) matches will be four (4) minutes Juvenile A and younger matches will be three (3) minutes long. 2. Juvenile A judoka will be allowed Shime-Waze, but not allowed Kansetsu-Waza. 3. Juv. B (Cadet) and IJF Junior division, Kansetsu-Waza will be permitted. 4. Junior boys who are ranked on the senior elite roster and/or the IJF junior elite roster and/or the Juvenile B (Cadet)or IJF junior rosters may compete in the senior men's Division 2-M category (Brown / black belt division) only. The other senior male divisions will not be accessible to junior boy judoka. 5. Junior girls who are ranked on the senior elite roster and/or the IJF junior elite roster and/or the Juvenile B or IJF Junior rosters may compete in the senior women's Division 1-F category (all ranks). 6. IJF match times will apply to senior men's 2-M and senior women's 1-F divisions - all other senior and master divisions will be three (3) minutes long 7. Blue and White Gi's Judoka competing in the senior men's 3-M division and the senior women's 1-F division must have both a white and blue gi. All judoka in team competitions must have both a white and blue gi. One team will be assigned white and the other blue for each team contest. Awards Competitors must be dressed appropriately in a gi or team uniform to receive the award. Points earned during team competition will only count for the team competition contests and will not earn points for the club as a whole when considering the junior and senior club trophies. Any falsely submitted forms and direct display of poor sportsmanship will result in ejection from the tournament. Special Weight-in at Tournament Competitors may weigh-in the morning of their event provided they are preregistered, and make their stated weight as noted on their registration form. If the competitor does not make weight, they are out of that particular division they pre-registered for. We will have the brackets prepared by that point in time for the tournament and cannot change bracket posting in order to accommodate a missed weight.

COACHES CREDENTIALS AND PASSES Coaches may check-in during the regular registration times. All coaches must show proof of current coach certification with USJI, USJF, USJA or their national organization. Coaches passes are free. A club/team may have as many coaches as they wish provided they are qualified and can produce the credentials as noted above. All coaches enter the competition site for free. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION During weigh-ins, competitors will be permitted to test weigh on the official scale as often as they like. We promise to do everything possible to run this tournament as fair and as humanly possible, with our main concern and attention being given to the competitors. Because this is an international tournament with young competitors from different countries speaking different languages, we reserve the right to re-fight a match if necessary because of any misunderstandings or mistakes on the part of a player or coach making what we determine to be an honest error. We see no harm in re-fighting a match under these circumstances. We realize problems in transportation can arise due to no error on the part of the competitors. If a problem arises, please call and speak to one of the following people. Attention coaches If you would like to go in the brochure with your team please send pictures of yourself and individual pictures of all the athletes. We will use something similar to what was used in dual meet national championships. $1000 prize money will be presented to the winning teams coach must be a minimum of 5 teams. In an effort to grow judo and our sport we have added team competition. Are you up for the challenge? At the end of the year we will look forward to another team national championship hosted by Cohen Brothers. Cost of team entry is $250. This
