He opened the scoring in just the fi fth minute, fi nishing off a combo from Daltyn Knutson and Pepe San Roman with a blast from 20 yards out to give the Bears the early lead. The UCA freshman added to his tally in the 65th minute, collecting a pass across the box from Harris Partain and putting it away from 16 yards out, before capping the night s scoring in the 75th minute by gathering a rebound and tapping it in from eight yards out. Stoneman, who has played in every minute of every game so far this season, helped Loyola open the weekend with a 1-0 win over Northern Kentucky on Friday evening as the Ramblers held a dominant 24-1 advantage in shots. The Saint Charles, Ill. product turned in another productive 90 minutes in the Maroon & Gold s 3-0 rout of Albany on Sunday afternoon as Loyola limited the Great Danes to only four attempts. Stoneman and the Loyola defense are currently riding a streak that has seen them hold opponents scoreless for 194 consecutive minutes. Other Notable Performances: Jacob Taylor (BRAD) /MISSOURIVALLEYCONFERENCE @MVCSPORTS /MISSOURIVALLEYVIDS /MVCSPORTS

NOTEWORTHY In addition to the league s player of the week selections, several conference players had notable performances, and they include: Ian McGrath (UE) - Ian McGrath, an All-MVC honorable mention a year ago, enjoyed his fi rst big offensive performance on Friday night, scoring both UE goals as the Evansville s upset bid against No. 16 Utah Valley fell short at the Hotels at Grand Prairie Soccer Series at Bradley. The junior has been one of UE s top players throughout the season, and he saw all but 14 minutes on the pitch as the Aces posted a 1-1 weekend. Ryan Howe (LUC) - Redshirt senior Ryan Howe registered the deciding goal in Loyola s 3-0 win over Albany on Sunday afternoon at Loyola Soccer Park. The goal, which broke a scoreless deadlock in the 49th minute, was not only Howe s fi rst of the season but also marked the fi rst time that the Rockford, Ill. product had found the back of the net since Sept. 27, 2014 following an injury that cost him all of his 2015 season. Howe, who has started in all three games this season, fi nished the game with a team-high six shots, fi ve of which were on target. He added three attempts in a 1-0 win over Northern Kentucky on Friday night. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK DATE PLAYER SCHOOL A29 Wes Carson Central Arkansas S6 Niklas Brodacki Central Arkansas DEFENDERS OF THE WEEK DATE PLAYER SCHOOL A29 Nick Burtenshaw Missouri State S6 Grant Stoneman Loyola MVC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are selected each week during the men s soccer season. The players are announced on Monday afternoon and appear in a weekly press release. Nominees are provided by each school s sports information contact and voted on by a panel appointed by the league offi ce. Jacob Taylor (BRAD) - Taylor was named to The Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic All-Tournament Team after helping Bradley to a runner-up tournament fi nish by limiting the two opponents to a total of just 13 shots and only fi ve shots on goal in the two games. Taylor was Bradley s only fi eld player to play all 180 possible minutes over the 3-day, weekend tournament.

BRADLEY (1-2-1) Getting Defensive Bradley s fi rst four games have featured a total of fi ve combined goals between the Braves and their opponents... The 1-1 draw in the season-opener at Gonzaga is the only game that has featured multiple goals as Bradley has alternated 1-0 losses around a 1-0 win in the next three games... The 2016 start marks the second consecutive year Bradley s fi rst four games have featured just fi ve goals as the Braves opened the 2015 campaign by following a 2-0, season-opening loss with three consecutive 1-0 victories. Week 2 of the Evansville Series Bradley and Evansville are going to be remarkably familiar with one another by the time they meet in their Valley opener Sept. 17... Evansville was the fourth team in Bradley s The Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic this past weekend, splitting its two games against #16 Utah Valley (L, 2-4) and Fairleigh Dickinson (W, 1-0)... Bradley will be the fourth team in this coming weekend s ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic at Evansville... The two teams finally will square off against one another in Week 4 when Bradley hosts the Purple Aces in the Sept. 17 Homecoming game at Shea Stadium. Lesch with the Assist Fifth-year senior forward Jason Lesch missed the entire 2015 season with a hip injury, but has returned for his fi nal campaign as Bradley s active career scoring leader... He added to his career totals by assisting Richard Olson s game-winning goal in Friday s 1-0 win against Fairleigh Dickinson... One of three seniors on the Bradley roster, Lesch now leads the current Braves with 67 career games played, 24 points, seven goals and 10 assists. The Bears, who averaged 0.83 goals per game last season, have averaged 3.33 goals per match this year. Junior Eric Williams had a solid debut for the Bulldogs versus Houston Baptist registering a career-best DRAKE fi ve shots. (1-2-0) Blink and You Will Miss It Drake played from behind for nearly the entire match against Omaha. The Mavericks scored off a corner kick just 1:56 minutes into the match. The early goal forced the Bulldogs to scramble from behind as they fell 3-0. Not Much Offense Drake was held without a shot attempt in the opening half against Omaha as the Mavericks recorded a 5-0 advantage in shots in the half. The Bulldogs bounced back with a 7-5 advantage in the fi nal half of play, but were unable to fi nd the net. On the Road Again Drake continues its season-long fi ve match road trip to start 2016 when the Bulldogs play at Milwaukee Tuesday. Game Winner for Robinson Jared Robinson also scored for the second time this season with his match-winner against Fairleigh Dickinson. LOYOLA (3-0-0) All Alone at the Top Loyola picked up a pair of victories this weekend as part of the Chicago Classic, defeating Northern Kentucky and Albany, to run its record to a perfect 3-0-0. The Ramblers currently sit atop the MVC table as the league s only unbeaten side entering the third week of the regular season. Hitting the Mark Through the opening three games of the 2016 season, the Ramblers have found the back of the net seven times through a combination of fi ve different players. Sophomores Alec Lasinski and Ryan Walker have each netted a pair of goals. Loyola currently ranks second in the Valley in goals per game (2.33) after scoring 19 total goals in all of last season. Going to War with the Wolverines Loyola ventures out on the road next weekend to take part in the NIU Adidas Invitational in DeKalb, Ill. In the opening game of the event, the Ramblers will battle fellow unbeaten Utah Valley. The Wolverines check in at No. 18 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25 Poll. Loyola s last victory over a ranked opponent came over then No. 20 Northwestern in a 1-0 overtime thriller back on Oct. 29, 2014 at Loyola Soccer Park. A victory would give the Ramblers their fi rst 4-0-0 start to a season in program history.
