We have just purchased one of the best Brown Bear/ Moose areas in Alaska. After many years of guiding Brown Bear hunters on Kodiak and the Alaska Peninsula we have found the area we believe has the best overall Brown Bear hunting in Alaska. Cinder River Lodge Alaska is located about midway down the Alaska Peninsula in prime Brown Bear and Moose habitat. The Cinder River area has a reputation for great game populations, as well as producing tremendous trophies. With hard work, and our crew of excellent guides, we plan on keeping that reputation for many years to come. The Cinder River area is one of the largest in the state. It encompasses the full width of the Alaska Peninsula, reaching from the PaciHic Ocean to Bristol Bay. A large portion of the area is located in our exclusive hunting concession of Aniakchak National Preserve. Our lodge facility includes a comfortable hunter's bunkhouse, shower house, and main lodge with kitchen. Our bush equipped aircrafts are based at the lodge to help support the hunting operation. Each hunter is Hlown to a spike camp where they and their personal guide will hunt for the desired trophy. Camps are checked often and moved to fresh areas as needed, to assure hunters the best possible chances for a successful hunt and a quality trophy. YOUR HOSTS My wife Nikki and I, with our two children, Stryder and Keelie, own and operate Freelance Outdoor Adventures & Cinder River Lodge Alaska. We are a Christian family who thank God for the blessings we have received and love to share the awesomeness of Alaska with others. In 1994 after 4 years of college I started my guiding career in the rugged mountains of Central Idaho. Over the years I worked wherever possible, which includes Mexico, Tajikistan, the western lower 48 and Alaska. I soon developed a passion for guiding sheep and bear hunts. In 2003 we started Freelance Outdoor Adventures, guiding Dall Sheep, Goat, Moose and Grizzly hunts, along with multi-day fishing trips. In the fall of 2010 after much research and guiding in many different Brown Bear areas on the Alaska Peninsula and Kodiak, we determined that the Cinder River Lodge exclusive concession was our best opportunity for a world class Brown Bear/Moose operation. I spend as much time as possible in the field guiding hunters and fisherman, but make quality time with my family a priority. Nikki is heavily involved in the business, taking care of the office duties, chauffeuring hunters, and corresponding with the clients. She was a teacher but the kids and business are a full time job for her now. We feel very fortunate to have been able to surround ourselves with great guides and pilots within our business.
