KETTERING HOCKEY CLUB NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2017 A huge thank you to MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND REPAIRS for sponsoring our very first social event of the season Bingo night at KHC raised a fantastic 540 for club funds and our nominated charities. The clubhouse was full and with 100 in prizes handed out, fabulous half time food and a free raffle a great time was had by all. Many thanks go to everyone involved in the night - we were overwhelmed by offers of help throughout the evening proving what great team spirit there is within our club Congratulations to Bibby who hobbled away with the 50 Bonus prize on the last call of the evening

CHARITY DONATIONS This year we are supporting two local charities Wren Spinney and Johnny s Happy Place and will be giving a proportion of all funds raised this season to these two well deserving charities and to the purchase of two dugouts for the new pitch

??PRE CHRISTMAS CLEAR OUT?? I m sure most of you have loads of unused and unloved items at home and there is a box in the clubhouse for all your unwanted goods. We are looking for:- 1 CD S, DVD S, BLU-RAYS AND GAMES 2 TEXTBOOKS 3 IPHONE, BLACKBERRY, SAMSUNG, SAMSUNG GALAXY, HTC, LG, NOKIA, SONY ERICSSON, GOOGLEPIXEL, & THE PHONE HUB 4 APPLE GOODS, KINDLETABLET, SMARTWATCH, LAPTOP AND CONSOLES. Any items donated will be sold to Music Magpie to raise funds for our club and our two chosen charities KETTERING HOCKEY CLUB PLAYING KIT Just a quick reminder that all orders for kit are now being dealt with via our on-line shopping store Silverfx. They have very strict order deadlines and delivery dates which are as follows Order deadline delivery by 18.10.2017 29.11.2017 04.11.2017 17.12.2017 12.12.2017 23.01.2018 Silverfx tell me that there will be a slight delay on the 25 th October delivery date (approx. 2 weeks late and they send their apologies) Members have been asking about numbers on shirts. Silverfx have a master list of our numbers and will allocate the next lowest number to players when shirts are ordered

KETTERING SPORTS AWARDS 2017 The following were nominated for the KETTERING SPORTS AWARDS 2017 and against strong opposition have made it through the first round of selection. They have all been invited to attend the very prestigious awards ceremony which will be presented by BBC Radio Northampton Rugby Co-ordinator Lennie Newman. The awards take place on Thursday 26 th October at Wicksteed Park Kettering. Ricky runs a great fitness session totally relevant to playing the game of hockey and it is also good fun. Mondays Bishop Stopford Gym 7pm 8pm 2 per session. Come and give it a go and please feel free to bring friends, partners, children, parents etc. Open to all and you can drop in and out of the sessions depending on how you feel
