Forfeit of a Game A $20.00 forfeit fee per infraction applies to all cases listed below: A team s attitude becomes such that continuing the game, in the umpires opinion would cause control of the game to be lost. A manager refuses to help control players or spectators when requested by the umpire or field supervisor. A forfeit fee is not paid to the TRPR office by the next regularly scheduled game. A team member is caught playing under an assumed name. A team fails to have 9 on the field of play at the scheduled game. A team member is ejected causing the team to have less than 9 players available to play. Team managers must let the TRPR office know of forfeit before noon on Wednesday (men s) or by noon on Friday (co-ed). Protest Rule No team can protest a judgement call by an umpire; only rule infractions can be protested. A team representative must notify the home plate umpire of the protest and rule infraction before the next pitch is delivered. The representative must complete a written explanation of the protest and pay a protest fee of $50. This must be given to the field supervisor before the completion of the game. If a protest is ruled valid the $50 will be returned to the team captain. If a protest is denied, the team will lose the fee. All protests will be decided within a week of the protest date. Game Time and Starting Numbers A team may finish with one less player than the team starts out with, only if caused by an injury, not an ejection. A team must finish a game with no less than nine players. A tenth player can be added in at any time during the tenth batting position. In the event of a possible forfeit, the forfeiting team may elect to be the visiting team for the game. The visiting team will have an out recorded in each batting position that they do not have a player up to the tenth position. The visiting team must be prepared to field nine defensive players at the end of one half of the first inning, at that time the forfeit will be called if this cannot be done. When a team finishes the game with fewer players than they began with, an out in the batting order will occur in that batter space that has been dropped from the line-up. Roster Requirements Maximum amount of players on a team s roster will be 18. Minimum amount of players on a team s roster will be 10. Rain out games will be re-scheduled if time allows. Males and Females will alternate in the batting order. Males and Females can play any defensive position. However, there must be an equal number of male and females on the field. If a team is playing with an odd number of players, the extra player must be a female. A team may not have more males than females on the field at anytime. The additional hitter rule will be in effect subject to batting twelve players, one additional female batter and one additional male batter. Teams using the AH (additional hitter) rule must bat twelve batters. Teams cannot bat more than twelve players. If a male batters walks, he automatically goes to second base. The following female batter has the option to automatically receive first base or bat. Third base coach will keep both softballs and provide the proper ball to the pitcher. Males will bat using a twelve inch softball. Females will bat using an eleven inch softball. Co-Ed teams are required to keep an equal balance of males and females while participating. In the event that the equal ratio cannot be met, a ratio of 6 females to 4 males will be acceptable. The AH rules will not be in effect with this ratio. When using the AH rule and a female player is out of the game due to an injury, revert to a ten player lineup to avoid having six men and only five women in the game. (This rule applies when there is no female to replace the injured player.) Rainout phone: (970) 572-7888
