Circular No.3/2018 5 th January 2018 To All Member Banks Dear Sir, From Friday the 2nd March to Sunday 4th March, 2018 at BALI, Indonesia FEDAI has been holding its Annual Conference since the year 2005. The Conference gives an opportunity to representatives of our member banks to exchange notes and share views on the latest developments and current trends in the foreign exchange market, with other market participants and regulators. We propose to hold 13th FEDAI Annual Conference at Bali from 2nd March to 4th March 2018. Bali. Since 1960's, Bali has been so popular as one of the most interesting tourist destination in the world and probably more popular than the country where it belongs to, Indonesia. The Balinese economy was largely agriculture-based in terms of both output and employment. Tourism is now the largest single industry in terms of income, and as a result, Bali is one of Indonesia's wealthiest regions. In 2003, around 80% of Bali's economy was tourism related. By end of June 2011, nonperforming loan of all banks in Bali were 2.23%, lower than the average of Indonesian banking industry non-performing loan (about 5%). Balinese and Indonesian are the most widely spoken languages in Bali. English and Chinese are the next most common languages. It is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking and music. We will have benefit of learned speakers from Southeast Asian Countries as well as India who would share with our members views on latest developments in the Forex Market. It is suggested that banks should nominate some senior level officials (heads of International Division / Treasury) as part of their teams. As senior officials of Reserve Bank of India and other industry bodies like CCIL, FIMMDA etc. are expected to attend the conference, it would be an excellent forum to interact with them. The nominations will be accepted on first cum first serve basis for the 140 delegates. Thereafter, nominations may be accepted at revised rates, subject to availability.
