THE STANDARDBRED & TROTTING HORSE ASSOCIATION OF GB & IRELAND (STAGBI) Application for Registration of Horse imported from EU NOTES & GUIDELINES This Application pack is for STAGBI registration of an imported horse that holds an existing EU Recognised Equine ID Passport and has been registered in the Stud Book of a recognised EU Standardbred / Trotting Authority. Commission Regulation EC 504/2008 and The Equine Identification (Wales) Regulations 2009 require the registration of the existing identification document (passport) in the database of the appropriate issuing body (STAGBI) within 30 days of the date of completion of the customs procedures and that ownership details are update within 30 days of a change of ownership. You will need to complete the following forms: Application for Registration (PART A) Equine Identification (PART B) to be completed by Veterinary Surgeon or STAGBI Official Microchip & DNA Declaration (PART C) to be completed by Veterinary Surgeon or STAGBI Official Please return the following to the STAGBI Office The completed forms PARTS A, B & C Valid Health Document issued by the country of origin and should have been handed to you with the Equine ID Passport Equine ID Passport Hair Sample for DNA analysis Appropriate Fees (Registration Fee & Membership Fee if required. Cheques payable to STAGBI or payment can be made by BACS, details below) In view of the fact that you are required to send it the passport it is recommended that you send by recorded delivery. Once the application has been processed, the Equine ID Passport will be stamped and returned to you with a new certificate of ownership. PLEASE NOTE AN EXPORT CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED EXPORT CERTIFICATE The seller or seller s agent should apply for an Export Certificate from the registration body of the country of export. The Export Certificate will be sent direct to the STAGBI Office. STAGBI will be unable to be process this application without an Export Certificate for the named horse, issued in your name.
