Essential Information Thank you for entering the Easingwold Cycle Sportive BLESMA 100/50 The Event will take place on 26yh May 2018 starting and finishing at The Galtres Centre, Easingwold. The two routes of various lengths and altitudes will encompass the surrounding Vale of York and the towns of Thirsk, Boroughbridge and Strensall. The two routes will be fully signed and an electronic copy available for download. There will be various water stops and feed stations on route. Getting to the Start: Easingwold is located between York and Thirsk on the A19. The nearest Mainline Railway station is York with a smaller station in Thirsk. Buses unfortunately are very sporadic on Saturdays but the timetable can be found here: http://getdown.org.uk/bus/bus/30.shtml The Galtres Centre is located in the centre of Easingwold. Parking and Registration: There is ample parking at The Galtres Centre Rear Car Park for over 50 vehicles with overflow parking adjacent to the entrance in the town square or in neighbouring streets. Registration will be in the main building and will be clearly signed. here you will receive your rider number and timing chip and have any questions answered please bring your helmet and registration confirmation email. Accommodation (if required): Easingwold has a number of bed and breakfasts and hotels which can all be found on: http://www.visit-easingwold.com/ What to Bring: Riders should be in the possession of the following as the minimum requirement for an enjoyable event: ID in case of an incident Money Mobile Phone (Organisers Number 07837470871) Basic Tool kit or Multitool Spare and appropriate clothing Working Pump Inner tubes The bike needs to be in a serviceable condition and safe to ride the distance entered. helmets are mandatory and should also be in a serviceable condition and fit for purpose. Medical Support/Cover The event has a number of qualified first aiders available at the Start and at feed Stations. In case of a serious incident or accident: Dial 999 or 112 Ensure that the injured cyclist and yourself are safe and not in any further danger. During the ride you are responsible for yourself and must have the spares and tools to deal with any mechanical problem. Any major mechanicals that result in the cyclist having to withdraw should be communicated to the Event organiser on 07837470871 and arrangements can be made to recover the rider to the start. Toilets Toilets are located at The Galtres Centre near registration in the main foyer. On the route there are various pubs, and public toilets. There are toilet facilities at the coffee stops in Boroughbridge and Strensall. PLEASE DO NOT URINATE ON THE ROADSIDE Page 5
Litter There are bin facilities at all locations. Please use these and don't litter the route. Photography There will be photos taken during the ride and will be available post ride free of charge. The photos will be used as marketing for future events. If you do not wish for you photo to be used then please let the registration team know. Registration will be open from 0800hrs All riders are required to bring entry confirmation and helmet. 50m Route https://www.strava.com/routes/11796454 Timing A timing chip system will be in operation so all numbers must remain visible. Timings will be available after the event. Signage Both routes will be signed with arrows of which can be seen at registration. Other signs on the routes will announce feed stations or cautionary areas. Feed Stations There are two feed stations and one water stop on the 100m and one feed station and one water stop on the 50m each station will have water, fruit, flapjacks and sweets. Page 9
Station 1 Water is located on Newlands Road Thirsk. 100mile only Station 2 Water and Food is located at Bean Emporium Borough Bridge All routes Station 3 Water and Food is located at The Ship Inn Strensall All routes Finish Location The finish location will be at The Galtres Centre Easingwold.
