NEW CLASSIC YACHTS -
CLAASEN SHIPYARDS NEW CLASSIC YACHTS - Classic Yachts with a modern twist The Dutch are known for their straightforward approach to life and business, and this is also reflected in their rich heritage of maritime trading around the globe. Over recent decades, Holland s superyacht industry has become a byword for quality. The Claasen story is inextricably linked to this rich history, with a background that reflects Dutch excellence in boatbuilding. Established in 1985, Claasen Shipyards builds premium yachts that are renowned for their flexibility, quality and craftsmanship. This is hugely appreciated by the growing number of proud Claasen owners, each of whom has been able to incorporate their own tastes and preferences into their custom yachts. From Truly Classics such as Heartbeat and Kealoha to groundbreaking performance yachts such as Louise and the first ever F-class Firefly, the Claasen Shipyards fleet contains some of the most renowned superyachts of recent times. It also illustrates how we are able to offer you a full range of custom and semicustom options from the boards of the world s leading designers and naval architects. If you would like to find out more in person, why not arrange a visit to the yard: We are only 20 minutes from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and would love to show you around our facilities. Who knows, you too may soon find yourself at the wheel of your very own Claasen yacht. In the meantime, we are proud to introduce to you the beautiful Kealoha. The facilities at Zaandam.
HIGH UP WIND, DOWN TO EARTH SY Kealoha Built in aluminium to full Lloyd s MCA classification in 2008, Kealoha immediately made a splash in the international yachting community by taking home the 2007 International Superyacht Design Award in the category Best Sailing Yacht 24-40 m at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Truly Classic Excellence These much-acclaimed superyachts combine the elegant aesthetics of the 1930s with modern underwater hull configurations in seven lengths ranging from 56 to 127 feet. Each yacht has a customised interior layout and style, sail plan, keel, draft, deck gear, rig, technical systems and performance level. All have made history in their own way. Kealoha is the first of the Truly Classic 90 series Hoek Design have drawn. In addition to twin cockpits and deckhouses, this deep ocean family cruiser racer has separate quarters forward for two crew. Hoek Design reckons the interior volume of Kealoha is the most they have ever designed in a 90-foot classic hull, with an aft owners cabin, a full-height engine room, a good lounge area with open plan galley, and impressive guest cabins.
INTERIOR Kealoha broke new ground by being the first yacht of this size to feature double cockpits and double deckhouses. The forward deckhouse is a fabulous spot, with a large dining and saloon area that offers splendid views. This deckhouse arrangement is just one of many ways in which Kealoha has been designed and built for outdoor cruising in warm environments. The layout works very well for a family boat that can be sailed by her owners, with the crew carrying out maintenance on the boat and sailing her when chartered. Her comprehensively customised interior is made of cherry wood with raised and fielded panels and is fully air-conditioned. Atalante accommodates 8 guests in 4 cabins. The salon is characterised by a super comfortable seating area with coffee table and a full entertainment system, while the forward deckhouse consists of a second socialising area with a dining table and navigation station. The Owners Stateroom has a queen size bed, ensuite shower and toilet. The Twin Stateroom has upper/lower single beds, ensuite shower and toilet. The crew has a separate heads and shower. EXTERIOR Her Mediterranean layout consists of a double deckhouse and double cockpit with the social space focused on the central cockpit. The aft cockpit is used for steering and is accommodating the sailing functions. This layout offers excellent privacy and space for her owners and is characterised by plenty of outdoor living areas. Another advantage of the double cockpit layout is that it makes her well suited to both regatta sailing and family cruising. An innovative drop-down platform to port provides easy access to the water for watersports activities such as swimming, diving or going on an excursion with the tender. Besides her classic looks with long overhangs to bow and stern, she ensures great performances because of her modern and fully optimised underwater lines, carbon spars and tall sail plans. Other exterior features are the keyhole shaped cockpits, fingertip control, flush deck and sweeping sheer with moderate freeboard.
